Just turned 70 this last May. 

I am a fan. I’ve been a fan of one or another book series, TV show or comic since I was eight. I’ve been in organized, convention-going and print-based fandoms since I was old enough to vote. My generation invented online fandoms, and I’ve been in them from almost the very beginning of online. I’ve been on CompuServe and AOL and LiveJournal and the other earliest platforms where fandom congregated: Tumblr’s merely one of the newer ones.

Much younger person chiming in here but still in my 30’s (which for some people is STILL too old I guess?), but what’s hilarious about people thinking someone is “too old” for fandom or being on places like tumblr, etc, etc…is that in some cases, these are the people that MADE your fandom. People who MADE the shows and games and music and movies and everything you enjoy or are part of a fandom of, are often made by people much older than you. Obviously we’ve seen a new rush of younger creators breaking through in the last several years but still like…who do you think made all your favorite shows youve been watching since you were a kid? Not someone your age, lemme tell you what.

here flowar, I wanted to ask a question to the shipper community in general since I would like to find out some things..especially about the ships that surround the fugoshis of the fandom 🫵

Well, the issue that I would like to find out is very simple since I have recently seen problems between both sides of the ship between hyuga and wakashimazu, I cannot understand the reason for so many fights..Could it be because of the different representations of the ship ? I have seen that on the Japanese side several aspects of the appearance are changed on both sides !! And that is very confusing 😿

These two couples evoke extremely polarized and passionate opinions. To illustrate how divisive they are, if you gather all those who ship Hyuga and Wakashimazu, based on my observations, roughly 50% ship KojiKen and 50% ship KenKoji. I've never seen anything like it!

I mentioned earlier that the conflicts are not as intense as before, but shippers, regardless of their side, remain just as passionate about their opinions as in the '80s.

I have no clue on how to use ao3 so until I figure that out I'm probably going to post some here (when I have actual time and inspiration to write one since I haven't written a fanfiction in a year), so if anyone who might be interested in reading that has some request/suggestions I would glady take that to gain some inspiration
