“you and i are over you can’t come to my rescue because i don’t need it” nadia hissed as she backed away. things at the office had become a little tense since they broke up. one of the partners had chewed her out for loosing the case and they were right to do so she had been off her game not double checking her source is what caused them to loose. “just stay away from me okay i don’t need your pitty.”

things between the two had been rocky it felt like anything said between them could blow up into a big fight and it didn't feel like the two could be around each other. making a quick glance he stared at the other not knowing what to say. preston cleared his throat as "not sure if you're hungry but i brought home some chinese food." he pointed to the dinner he had bought for them. feeling like they werent paying any attention he shrugged his shoulder some. "its fine you can eat or not i don't care anymore."

“what do you mean if i still want this? of course sass do you still want this?”

“you have nothing to be sorry for… i kissed you and i shouldn’t have,” she muttered with a shake of her head, “i could handle him hating me but i wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if he hated you..”

drew shook his head some disagreeing with edie “yeah but i could have stopped it at any point but i didn’t so it’s both our faults.” he sighed deep down he didn’t want to forget that this had happened but he knew for him family’s sanity he needed to. “don’t worry about it i won’t say anything it’ll be like it never happened.

“i do really want this..” she spoke softly placing her hand on his cheek, ‘i know i have been difficult and i keep dragging you in to only push you away but this is the closest i have had to a relationship since my divorce —- call me stupid but i’m scared of what everyone is going to think and say.” 

he sighed nodding his head understanding where she was coming from softly holding onto he wrist logan smiled some. “difficult is a nice way to put it.” he slightly teased as he tried to make light of their conversation. “its not stupid ivy i get it and you shouldn’t care about what others will say i mean as long as your happy you shouldn’t really care.”

“can we just forget that kiss every happened… i’m dating your sibling and the last thing i would want is to come inbetween you two.” 

“i mean yeah we could forget the kiss i’m sorry it even happened i know you’re with him and like you said we don’t need the friction.” 

“i’m not trying to mess with your feelings but it’s complicated.. i just don’t want to rush into anything. i’m sick of having a broken heart.” 

“i get not wanting to rush into things but we’ve been seeing each other for 4 months now and i just want to make sure this is something you really want.”

“i get that its been repetitive thing but this time i mean it we can’t keep doing this.” she sighed rolling her eyes slightly shaking her head. “you know we are gonna get caught then all hell is gonna let loose.”

“do you think you might be ready— to take the next step?”

“i’m just saying i’m tired of people claiming that we should be together and them not understanding we are friends. so why don’t we just give it a go and see if there is something between us.” 

“stop messing with my emotions because you’re unsure of yours.”

“this was the last time we do this, we need to move on we can’t keep this never ending cycle.”
