really talked back at how my co worker was saying that "po" and "opo" was cringe while talking in our dialect. Im not from Manila so I dont speak tagalog but I still use these just a sign of respect as im in the hospitality industry. Mind you she was laughing while saying these:

Her: Cause its just weird to hear po and opo when we don't speak tagalog

Me: Maybe because we're not used to being respectful thats why

Her: Just because I dont use it doesnt mean im being disrespectful

Me: Yeah, and just because I use it doesn't mean you can mock people who use those. It doesn't harm you in anyway, so why laugh?

Then she turned quiet. I REALLY HATE CONFRONTATIONS LIKE FOR REAL AS IM A QUIET PERSON. But yesterday was satisfying af 🥹
