Now I realize that there is no righteous path. Hello Everyone!

I’ve been gone for a long time, I know. There are still about 14 700 of you hanging around. Once again, I wanted to thank you for your support. I’m not sure what’s going on here lately but if you want to find me I’m either on instagram @okaymoose or look for me at www.patreon.com/okaymoose

Long time no see.... me.

Hello everyone! I hope you’re all well. I see almost 1000 people have lost faith in me, with good reason. I absolutely never use tumblr anymore. I had a good run but I’m 22 years old now, I’ve had a boyfriend for a year and a half and we live together! I’m also in my 4th year of University doing my BA honours in Visual Arts.

I had a really good run on here. I made a lot of good friends. Maybe no friends for life but that’s how it is sometimes. If you want to see what I’m up to these days then follow me on instagram @okaymoose it’s really the only social platform I use. You can see my art and my face and maybe my boyfriend’s face occasionally (he’s tall and has a wicked beard).

Thank you all for giving me such a great run. With almost 16000 followers (now 15000 even though I’ve been inactive for months) you all really gave me a good few years on here. THANK YOU!

I’m not giving up, Charlie. I don’t have a death wish, and even if I did, I can’t die, not with this on my arm.

So I’ve been trying to think of ways to make money. I’ve had a hard time selling my paintings and other art but I did a project involving knitting the other week and my classmates seemed pretty into the socks I made for my boyfriend. One even asked if I do commissions and so I’m making this post to ask if any of you would consider buying some custom socks from me. They would be handknit which means about 8 hours per sock, 16 hours per pair. I’d use REALLY nice wool yarn, wool with silk or cashmere would cost more because the yarn costs more. Essentially it would be around $20-30CND per ball of yarn and then I’d at $50 for my time and then shipping. This would be for plan coloured socks with optional cuff/heel/toe in a different colour. If you want examples of socks I’ve made I have a few of my socks on my instagram here (okaymoose) and if you want more examples I can send you images privately.

Also if you see some art (paintings, drawings, etc.) on my instagram that you like just shoot me a message and I’ll give you a reasonable price.

Does it bother anyone else that the Firefly DVDs don’t have the “previously on/intro” thing they play for television but they have it on Netflix?

12x11 “Regarding Dean” Because: Bunny // Part I of III

“Follow the Black Rabbit” or “The Curious Case of Dean in Wonderland”

I usually don’t meta underneath my edits, but with this one I just had to write down a short note, because it just struck me so much as a subtle or well, not so subtle nod (that only I may see lol) to “Alice in Wonderland” and how Alice follows the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole into this world where nothing appears to be quite like it used to be or usually is. I am way too tired to write about Alice in Wonderland and how it relates to this episode in depth at the moment, but as a short mention, Lewis Carroll’s story about Alice is probably one of the most philosophical books out there filled with and referencing various kinds of theories on language and reality which fits the topic of this episode very much so.

Especially as the book commonly in part is understood to be an homage to childhood and childhood innocence and childlike phantasy, which directly connects to Dean becoming much more childlike as the episode progresses and his memory loss gets worse. And the aspect about the loss of innocence and the “horror” of growing up with all it’s burdens surely is driven home with the sad ending montage that is set to Bobby Goldsboro’s “Broomstick Cowboy” showing Dean as carefree as a kid as we rarely see him as an adult.

The rabbit in the beginning of the episode, marking the moment of Dean “losing his mind” however isn’t the only reference to “Alice in Wonderland” imo. All of the post-its we see of course serve the purpose to remind Dean of what’s what (I actually was surprised that they didn’t go as far as Dean forgetting how to read) and give him a sense of direction and control (and direction and contradiction and control are also major themes of the book), but more than that a few of them - like the one “open me” - do reminded me a great deal of the “drink me”- or “eat me”-signs that are so prevalent in “Alice in Wonderland”.

Alice in Wonderland ends with Alice waking up from a dream, which was her adventure in wonderland. Likewise this episode ends with Dean getting saved and the ending montage playing a song that’s all about describing growing up as having to wake up from a dream.

“Dream on, little Broomstick Cowboy, dream while you can; Of big green frogs and puppy dogs and castles in the sand. For, all too soon you’ll awaken; your toys will all be gone. Your broomstick horse will ride away, to find another home.
So dream on, little Broomstick Cowboy, dream while you can; For soon, you’ll be a dreadful thing: my son, you’ll be a man.“
