I’ve been playing your app since 2017, and I’ve spent more than I’d like to admit on diamonds. I’ve invested time, money, and emotion into your books. And right now, I feel betrayed.

I can no longer trust you.

For a long time, The Royal Romance has been one of my favorite books. I love all the characters, I love the story, I love the diamond scenes I’ve bought, and I love Liam. Now, I see you’re rewriting it? You’ve completely changed Liam’s character?? This is problematic for a lot of reasons.

1) What is canon now? You’ve created two versions of the same game but they’re SO different. Having these two contradictory stories is stupid because one, it ruins the integrity of the story, and two, people will only be bothered by it! New players won’t know the difference, but old players do. And guess what? We loved the ORIGINAL. We fell in love with sweet Liam #1, and angsty Drake #1. We invested time and money into this, and seeing what we loved changed only enrages us. So congratulations, you managed to only piss people off with this.

2) What happens when we want to replay? Old players have spent money on lots of diamond options. Do we just have to lose this and rebuy everything if we want to try the new version? Are people getting things for free we had to pay for, or getting things early we had to wait for?

3) What is the precedent being set? Should we continue to invest time and money into these books if things are just going to change? Are the things we’re reading even going to STAY that way? Why should I invest in something that’s just going to change?

4) Seeing what you did to Liam, in completely changing his character, broke me. I loved him. I loved the way he was before, a well-behaved, dutiful prince who restrained himself from going after what he wanted because he had responsibilities that wouldn’t permit him to. I loved how he was thoughtful and romantic, kind and understanding, the purest, most precious cinnamon roll. If you can’t even handle one of your best characters how can I trust you to take care of your characters in other books?

I’ve supported you for so long, but this... this is unforgivable. You’ve broken your trust with the fandom. A quick scroll through tumblr will show you that none of us are happy. I’ll finish MOTY but you’re not getting another cent from me. Once I finish the stories I’m reading I’m out. I’ll take my business to a company that has integrity and doesn’t screw over their loyal fan base for a desperate cash grab that compromises the integrity of their own stories.

This blog will not be recognizing ANY “The Royal Romance” rewrites as canon.
