the best part of watching the nasa livestream where they tried out planetary defense against an asteroid was watching the scientists cry and hug each other at impact <3

I love working at an airport because I have a very coveted cubicle by a window and sometimes F-35s come and do touch-and-go’s. And because we’re all aerospace engineers everyone comes running to the windows to watch and go “WOAHHHH” as they rip by like

This is literally what I said to my coworker:

“huh, that must be a big jet… wow that must be a really big jet… holy shit that’s a F-35!”

And then I turn around and 15 people are behind me like “a what now?”

my calc professor calls differential equations “guys” and says stuff like “lets deal with this guy first” and it brings me a little joy in between the torture

Differential equations is so much fun for no reason, why is this insane math course so fun.

My favorite is solving with exact equations or Bernoulli’s equation. god i love mathematics it’s just so much fun

It is weird being a high schooler in a college course, as i’m in this class with people 4 urs older than me. It’s chill i’m always paired with joe, he looks at me like i’m insane when i finish a problem on the worksheets.

The thing I’m trying to keep in mind right now regarding the Rooster Teeth news is this:

RWBY made it nine seasons. Nine. Seasons. Over ten years. For an indie series made by a comparatively small team. That’s more than most big studio shows get.

Even if we never end up seeing the end of it (I’m still holding out hope), even if you never cared about the show or thought it went downhill at some point, you have to admit that that is incredibly admirable.

Monty Oum, Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross wanted to make a show, and they did. And that little show ended up becoming a whole ass franchise with over a hundred episodes and legions of fans all over the world.

And no matter what, I think that’s worth celebrating.

scholarship essays are so funny because i make the most meaningless points of my life mean the world. like yes i did find out i was allergic to peaches by accident, and only had itchy eyes and a throat.

my essay be like :

Two years ago, in sophomore year I was finally becoming an adult. My friend was picking me up to drive me to school and so I was preparing myself breakfast, a fresh peach brought from my grandmothers garden. I cut the peach happily as I rarely had them but we’re one of my favorite fruits. I ate the fruit and continued my morning rituals, but when going to put my contacts in my eyes stared to water. Forgoing contacts, I put my glasses back onto my face and walked down to the medicine cabinet to get eye drops. Assuming it was from my pollen allergy. Yet the itch in my eyes persisted followed by the back of my throat feeling scratchy. I ignored the pain as my mother was at school teaching and my father on a conference call. I piled into my friends car and both of them turned towards me confused. “[REDACTED] is everything ok? your eyes are bloodshot!m, who made you cry?” the driver asked terrified for what had transpired over the weekend leading to myself looking so distraught. I opened my mouth the talk and shut it confused about what could have possibly caused this. “I think…” I croaked out, “I might be allergic to peaches.”

This is your permission to block that person!

There is no stigma attached to blocking people on tumblr. I promise.

Listen, I promise you. You can just block them.

I have blocked someone because I don’t like their art style. Their art constantly shows up in a fandom tag I follow; so I blocked that user.

Someone I follow reblogs from someone I don’t want to see on my dash so I put their entire URL in my filtered terms/ blacklist.

There was an aesthetic blogger in a tag I frequent and I didn’t want their collages/ mood boards to clog up my search results. So I blocked them.

I promise you, you are allowed to filter out and/ or block people.

People don’t need to be bad, don’t need to be annoying, don’t need to “deserve” getting blocked.

You are allowed to block people for any reason whatsoever; including no reason at all.

Phil: [Laughs] No fcking shot. No fcking shot! Oh my god, right–

Phil: So, this is a candle– Right, this is a candle that usually has Jesus on it, and like, I'm pretty certain it like– you put it in a house and they have put Techno on it, they have put fcking Alex on it. [Laughs] With photoshop. They've photoshopped fcking Alex onto this thing. Oh my god dude. It's a fully functioning candle, that is just–

Phil: Only reason I know where this is from is because we went into like, a Mexican store, and they had a section that was just candles of Jesus. Like this. [Laughs]

If you're logged into your AO3 account, you can mute any other account on the Archive. Muting means that you will no longer see:

  • works they've created (or co-created) in search results and tag listings (you can still access the works themselves, if you have a direct link)
  • bookmarks they've created
  • other users' bookmarks of their works or series
  • comments they've left

You can mute a user by clicking/tapping on their username (anywhere on the site) to get to their profile page. On that page, you can select the Mute button and then confirm that you really mean to do it.

To unmute them later, you can go to your Preferences page and select the button for Muted Users. Find their name in the list, and select the Unmute button. Then you'll see them on the Archive again.

For the people who just want to mute a single work and not an entire author (or want to mute works of anonymous authors), you can do so with a site skin. I wrote up instructions, along with copy/paste code, and you can find them here

For the people who have muted users and want to stop seeing the little notice message at the top of the page telling you that you have muted users, you can add the following code to a site skin so that little message never shows up again:

p.muted.notice { display: none; }

The link above also contains instructions for how to create a site skin if you've never made one before. Again, no coding required - just copy/paste.
