you know we literally treat ruptured ectopic as an EMERGENCY surgery.

real thing that happened to me as a junior resident. I'm not ObGyn but my specialty requires that I do a 1 month rotation in Ob. 3am. I'm in the emerg, patient comes in with ectopic diagnosed on ultrasound.

I was in the process of getting the admission orders and paperwork ready to get her to go to the operating room when she nearly collapsed on her way back from the bathroom because her ectopic had ruptured. She was bleeding into her abdomen, and her blood pressure was tanking. You looked at her, and she was pale and sweaty (as we say: diaphoretic). Those are all the signs someone is in shock. Not emotional shock of seeing something horrible. Medical shock. Defined as inadequate tissue perfusion, aka the cells in your body (your brain, your heart, your kidneys and lungs etc) not getting enough oxygen for a number of reasons. In this person's case...it was hypovolemic aka hemorrhagic, bcos she was bleeding internally.

We had to immediately transfuse her 2 units (approx 500mL) of blood before she was even stable enough to go upstairs to the OR.

You know what would've happened 100 years ago before medical science has allowed us to operate and save her?

She would've died on her way back from the bathroom.

That's it.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t give a flying shit about the royal family (royal parasites) and a lot of non British people would be surprised to know that majority of people here in the UK don’t actually care about them or even know why they still exist, but now that it’s been revealed that Kate Middleton hasn’t been around due to a cancer diagnosis..something she was forced to tell the public thanks to people and the media literally bullying her non stop. I really hope people fuck off and leave her alone? Maybe take a break from making brain dead memes?

I know all of you are waiting for King Charles to die really quickly because he has cancer. But let me just burst your bubble a little bit.

He's not gonna die.

Prostate cancer especially early stage is definitely not going to kill him.

And How do I know it's early stage? because they literally thought they were bringing him into the operating theater for a TURP surgery (transurethral resection of prostate).........for benign prostate hyperplasia.

And I bet you the surgeon looked at it in real time was like hmm, it looks kind of funky and took some samples and sent to pathology and the pathologist went yeah never mind it's cancer.

TLDR these kind of cases have a really high survival rate. He's gonna hang around for a long time.

He has a higher chance of dying tmr from a stroke or heart attack than this prostate cancer.

these are cheaper cheeses in the grocery store. if you buy more expensive (read: legit) cheeses they will be in larger chunks.
