It’s kind of dumb and upsetting to see so many non cubans, especially Americans, spreading so much misinformation about the protests.

People are protesting their government. Not the U.S. The cuban government chooses to practically starve its people while finding a way to feed the tourists. They purposely oppress everyone on the island while tourists can come and go as they please. The U.S and the embargo is not responsible for that. That’s a choice the cuban government makes.

The people in cuba are prisoners of the island. They can’t leave. They can’t travel. If they do get the off chance to do there are so many obstacles placed there by the government to make sure it’s almost impossible to leave. The embargo is not responsible for that. The government chooses to make its people prisoners.

They have no human rights, no freedom of speech, a few years ago if you even wore anything with the american flag you’d be imprisoned. If you were caught eating or selling beef you’d be imprisoned. If you were caught learning English you’d be imprisoned. The embargo is not responsible for that.

Food quality for the actual citizens is trash, there’s barely anything to eat. While the tourists can go into restaurants that the citizens don’t have access to and eat whatever they want.

The hospitals are falling apart, the equipments are broken, the sick are being sent away into clinics with terrible conditions, they refuse to allow the citizens to get the FDA approved vaccines so they just made some up which don’t work because there are several cases of people getting sick even after they got their made up vaccine. There are thousands of new cases every single day.

This is a government that purposely chooses to treat the tourists better than it’s own citizens. A government that for years has chosen to starve its people, to oppress its people, to not allow them to have any rights, to play victim, a government where it’s own citizens would rather risk their lives and their children’s lives sailing into the ocean with the hopes of landing in the u.s than to keep living in those conditions for one more day.

And the embargo is responsible for none of that. The cuban government chooses to do this to its own people. Just like they did it before the embargo and just like they’re still doing it now.

Sam Arias is the best thing Supergirl has done in a long while. Please god, I hope they keep her around.

I just feel like the world (or ya know fandom) is sleeping on the sam arias storyline. there's so much ship stuff going around (and damn am i here for some agent reign myself) but if we take that all away for just a second sam’s storyline is honestly SO FUCKING GOOD. and odette is truly just playing it so well, she’s so good at switching from this super self-sacrificing single mom who would go to hell and back for her kid to this cold calculating murderer and damn can we just really appreciate how well odie is playing it and how interesting the entire sam/reign dynamic is. this last episode really just left me shook af. sam and her story for the rest of the season is really all i’m tuning in for and i hope the writers decide to keep sam bc i honestly don't think i would care to watch this show without her at this point.
