decided that if i’m gonna be getting back to kunsel, i gotta start fresh – this blog will stay as it is, because i love saving things ive written and posted (and its also a mainblog w important sideblogs shh), but now to write with kunsel you’ll have to go to that blog (which is a WIP at the moment but dont mind that)

unfollowed everyone who unfollowed during a hiatus so now it’s tiDY and if i refollow later + they follow back, neato but if not, they doing them and thats cool
uhhh i’ll probably rework all pages, and potentially change my theme too. i have this cute one for my dipper blog and it’s simple and neat. i might also use rules from dipper’s blog because! simplicity! woo!
i had a lot of verses and aus so those will be reworked and either kept or scrapped. obvously the game/movie timeline are kept but maybe a few aus get gone. also should have someting flexible at least for blogs like ffx and ffxv if i ever have+interact with mutuals of said games
tags need to be redone hopefully tumblr forgets them by the time i want to start cloud back over lmfao i hate the messed up tags it fucks w/ me

maybe it’s sad, pitiful, or just downright silly, but… he holds one particular memory, one that had never faded out, or lost its clarity for as long as he can remember—— even if it had been in darkness for a time.
“ a fond childhood memory.., ” Cloud repeats softly, nodding slowly.
the lingering smell of his mother, the smell of the soup she had made– his favorite– for his going away. the sensation of burning in his eyes as the tears dared to show themselves, even for a mean old woman who didn’t agree with who he was, the tightness && firmness that they held each other just before he headed off.
at that time, he had only been fourteen, moving onto to be a great man, someone admired, someone people would look at in awe. he would be Cloud, he would be the strongest man in SOLDIER.
the lights of the training facility as he walked the halls, the feeling that is definitely recalled as pain in his cheeks— from SMILING so hard, no less— from all the joy && riveting acknowledgement that his life was about to change, for the better. no one would see his chest, no one would think him a woman, just a feminine guy. no one would know he was Claudia, they would know him as Cloud.
he was himself, && that was more than enough. he had found a home, even if it started him down a path of hell, it still brought him to a haven he had sought for what seemed like a thousand years.
acceptance. love. freedom. friendship. it was one thing he had never let go of. the day he was CLOUD, both inside && out, accepted, loved, free… everything he had wanted.

cloud was always affected by depression+anxiety as a child (canon supports it but with my added him being trans & having a deadbeat runaway father WHICH IS OPEN TO BE IMPLIED AT LEAST) & socializing is basically hell he can’t do it very well at ALL. tifa and barret did most of the socializing at the beginning, and before, even zack got to chattering first before cloud came out of his shell
hes always been a quiet kid but constant fear of rejection+humiliation+generally not being able to talk to people RIGHT (hes autistic canon be damned) makes it even harder to reach out and get through it. zack and tifa and barret are talkative, they opened the door first.
nan and vincent and denzel are the type that people might have a harder time connecting to but they were easiest made friends for cloud. that has a lot to do with them all knowing trauma and loss intimately, but the peaceful quiet between them was like, safety for cloud. he didn’t have to struggle to know what to do, they either talked or they didn’t. its like a super relaxed relationship and yea he obviously loves all friends very much but /loose hand gestures
you: cloud says “how do you put this thing on” when putting on the dress because he’s a MANLY BOY :)
me, an intellectual: logically a dress is not that hard to operate, it’s basically a long shirt so logically speaking it wouldn’t have baffled him at all because not only has he done more difficult things than that, putting on a dress is as simple as pulling it over your head & MAYBE HAVING IT ZIPPED by someone else. playing up your ”obvious masculinity” is, yes, done by cis men w/ fragile masculinity, but not usually to that extent. cloud strife is a trans man and “how do you put this thing on” was a way to try & ‘prove’ he is a man to those listening.
