Sarah Jane: I waited for you. I missed you.

The Doctor: Oh, you didn’t need me. You were getting on with your life.

Sarah Jane: You were my life.

Sarah Jane: You know what the most difficult thing was? Coping with what happens next. No, with what doesn’t happen next. You took me to the furthest reaches of the galaxy, you showed me supernovas, intergalactic battles and then you just dropped me back on Earth. How could anything compare to that?

The Doctor: All those things you saw, you want me to apologize for that?

Sarah Jane: No! But we get a taste of that splendor and then we have to go back.

The Doctor: Look at you, you’re investigating. You found that school. You’re doing what we always did.

Sarah Jane: You could have come back.

The Doctor: I couldn’t.

Sarah Jane: Why not?

Obsessed with how the first two episodes of this season were like "Drag queens! Space babies! Whimsy and charm!" And this one was all "Fuck the military industrial complex and fuck capitalism too, war is essentially self-destruction, we're going to destroy an interstellar arms manufacturer with the power of a father's love"

Steven Moffat coming back to Doctor Who after years away just to go after capitalism, organized religion as a cover for violence, the military industrial complex, AI, and “thoughts and prayers” in 46 minutes.

As someone who was recently in Fukui, this isn't even scratching the surface of how mad the town is for dinosaurs.

For example, here is the outside of the train station:

If you thought that they were only outside the station, think again!

The last dinosaur has a crab, because the region is known for seafood.

You can even buy coffee emblazoned with dinosaurs!

And that's not even getting into how you get to the nearby Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. Behold, the Dino-Liner:

And if you're like, man I don't know how the museum will top all of these dinosaurs, boy do I have news for you.

And then you get to the cafe:

But, eventually, it was time to head back to the train station...on the dino bus.

I feel like it really needs to be mentioned that these dinosaurs outside the train station are animatronics

A gentle reminder that Companions are hand wash only

Yeah (sylv loves telling this story) the glass cracked and  the water spilled, and there was all sorts of electrical stuff lying around, and apparently Sophie almost got electrocuted

At ReGeneration Who, Sophie said this clip is included in a “safety awareness/instruction” video that new employees at BBC have to watch.

The clip is also on the “Battlefield” DVD.  It’s a bit surreal.  You hear the “THOOONK!’ of the glass cracking, see the water level immediately start to lower, and a look of confusion on Sophie’s voice…

…then you hear this THUNDEROUS Scottish voice bellow, “GET HER OUT!!!”

this also reminds me of that famous explosion in the greatest show in the galaxy that came off bigger than expected and sylv is almost thrown to the ground be he keeps strolling with a swag and classic who is hardcore af

you can see some of the cracks in the photo above. Electrocution was the second danger Syl was worried about; the first was Sophie being propelled forcefully through all that glass like a Byford Dolphin victim when the glass panel shattered. it was just ordinary glass, not safety glass.

and here’s sylvester’s swag in Greatest Show in the Galaxy:

doesn’t break stride even with holes singed in his coat and the back of his trousers
