finally switching accounts after nearly 6 years on this one. find me at cryptiq (personal) or skittishes (insp)
everyone wants to go new york but when someone talks about the “poorer”(minority) neighborhoods its suddenly “sketchy”. everyone wants to live in the hip neighborhoods in brooklyn and manhattan but nobody cares about all the gentrification and families being evicted so that white college kids can move in. new york is sooo cool and interesting until its time to talk about how expensive it is for working class brown families to make it in a city they grew up in. kids raised in the hood watched their neighbors be displaced for new, shinier, rich whites

J. Skyler, a trans woman of color, writer, and speaker, has come up with a concise hashtag for signal boosting! Use #TransCrowdFund on both Twitter and tumblr to help boost visibility for your fundraisers or donation pages! I’m hoping to help set up a blog that would specifically reblog anyone using this hashtag, so please contact me or check the tag.
If you’re cis, and would like to help signal boost, please ask the trans person in question before using this hashtag.
This blog was created as a means to put these ideas into action. Please use the tag Trans Crowd Fund, as this blog will be checking that tag on a regular basis and reblogging as many posts as possible. We will also be taking submissions.
If any popular tumblr users would like to signal boost and help get the word out, that would be greatly appreciated (I tagged a few below, but everyone is encouraged to reblog)
Allyson Felix is now the most decorated woman in U.S. track and field history.
Allyson Felix is has cemented her status as superstar in the world of U.S. track and field. She competed in the 400-meter race at the 2016 Rio Olympics and only placed second after Bahamas’ Shaunae Miller made a dive for the finish line.
With that silver medal, Felix is now the most decorated woman in U.S. track and field history. Felix has now earned seven medals in her Olympic career, breaking her tie with Olympic great Jackie Joyner-Kersee. The breakdown of where and what she won is pretty impressive.

sci-fi episodes i want:
- ship’s computer crashes due to virus acquired during a porn download from a lower decks ensign
- firmware update was pushed out to the fleet, has vital error in the clock program that causes every computer to repeat 2300. translators have to explain to the enemy why everyone is an hour late to peace talks.
- unintelligble message is sent out into the void because someone’s pet cat walked across their keyboard. message is interpreted as a marriage proposal.
- universal translators break, everyone is reduced to hand gestures
- viewscreen has dead pixels in the upper left corner, drives the captain a bit bonkers
- space gps tells us to take a right where we should take a left. plucky recent academy grad on the graveyard shift realizes that this would take us into the sun and makes the course correction. ship’s computer advises her for two hours to make a u-turn when it is safe to do so
Aborigines are not just the oldest race in Australia; they are the oldest race on the planet. They look like dinosaurs. They are really strange and different, and they should be treated as living treasures. Yet, they are not.
But at the same time, when you first meet them, you have to put effort into it. For one thing, to Western eyes they look terrible. Their faces are like no other faces on earth; they have big torsos (just one bad result of their encounter with Western civilisation is a high-sugar diet that bloats their bodies) and sticklike legs.
#cancelled.
Reminder: she’s terrible and her art is boring and lmao she was ‘inspired’ by us.
