Chapter Eleven

Things with Chrissie had gotten much easier since your family barbeque. She wasn’t exactly your best friend all of a sudden and she still didn’t seem overly pleased that you were living with them now, but every now and then she’d flash you a smile or attempt to make small conversation. She was finally opening up and you finally felt like you could relax and settle into your new home. Tips That Can Save Your Kid’s Life.

THIS IS IMPORTANT 

When I was a child, from the time I was about four and could understand things, my mom told me and my brother that we should have a secret word. That way, if we were ever in trouble or felt unsafe and we didn’t want the people around us to know we needed her to come get us, we could let her know. So she let us pick the word and my brother and I chose the phrase “peanut butter cups.” (I’m happy to share the phrase now since both my brother and I are adults now). 

I used the phrase twice in my life. Once, I was at a friends house when I eight years old. Her dad got really drunk and was throwing things against the wall. I was really scared and I didn’t want to draw attention to myself on the phone when I called my mom to come get me because I didn’t know if he would get more violent if I asked her to come get me. So I called her and was calm and after a couple minutes I asked “Hey mommy, did you get me those peanut butter cups from the store?” And she said “I’ll be right there.” And she came and got me within minutes. 

Second, I was a teenager spending the night at a friends house. Her brother and dad were drinking and they started talking about things that made me uncomfortable - ie: what they liked to do to women. My friend didn’t seem perturbed and said that was normal for them and that I shouldn’t worry. But I was worried because they were really drunk and I was 15 and the only ‘woman’ around that wasn’t related to them. I went in my friends room, told her I needed to call my mom and say goodnight. Before I hung up with her I asked “Next time we go to the store, can we get some peanut butters cups? I’ve been craving them.” And she came and got me, just like that. 

Two incidents, one as a young child, one years later as a teen. Don’t discredit this stuff, it fucking works. My brother used it a few times too. Let your child pick the word and no never, ever, ever, ever get mad at them for using it no matter what it is. 

DO NOT SCROLL PAST THAT.

Off topic, but very important! I was taught to yell “this is not my mom/dad.” A young kid freaking out in public is likely to be ignored out of embarrassment, but a kid telling you right out that they don’t know who is messing with them? That will turn heads.

The morning sunlight broke through the small gap in the thick cream curtains, casting a ray of warmth over Y/N’s face. With a few soft blinks, she woke up slowly, taking a moment to just appreciate the quiet that surrounded her. She pulled her cover closer to her body as she smiled, the burn between her thighs and the pleasant ache in her centre being a wonderful reminder of the sex she had with Dean. It was everything she thought it would be and more, he’d made her orgasm in a way that no other man had ever achieved. She so desperately wanted to remember everything about this moment, about him for she knew he would soon be a happy memory she’d escape to when times got tough.

The Gala had been underway for around two hours, dinner had been served and consumed and now the attendees were happily talking between themselves. Due to this, he had given Sam, Benny and Cas the heads up and they gave their word that they would keep a lookout for him, knowing to keep Duke as far away from Y/N as possible. 

Glancing to his side, he watched how Y/N giggled at a story that Gabriel was telling. Her petite manicured hand curling around the stem of her martini glass as she listened intently to what his cousin had to say. The longer he stared, the more his brain filled with thoughts and ideas of what her life must be like. He was worried, her behavior after Duke had changed somewhat and she’d become almost fearful. The way she huddled into his side as if she was yearning for his protection. His gut was telling him to tread carefully, so that was what he was going to do.

Summary: Do you believe in fate? You didn’t because if you did, fate definitely drew you a sucky hand. So you chose to ignore anything silly like fate and chose to believe in things like ‘hard work pays off’

You’ve worked hard your whole life. You had to, having no one to lean on for support. Through all that hard work you ended up working on set for tv shows/movies and you were good at what you did and everyone knew that, recommending that you worked with them. Right now you were working on set for Supernatural. Season 3 was here and everyone was still going strong - especially you.

You kept to yourself most of the time, drowned in your work. You helped with set, making/fixing props, setting stage, lighting, you even acted a little - being pulled in whenever they needed a last minute extra in the back.

No one really payed any attention to you, the only people being the director and the others who you sometimes had to work with but in those 3 years you made a friend, Marissa who worked in makeup.

You rested a hand on his shoulder, giving him a gentle squeeze. Dean glanced over at you briefly, a tired smile on those gorgeous plump lips you constantly find yourself staring at. His eyes were heavy, and you knew the poor guy needed to get some sleep.
