I LOVE JEDVERSE! Ugh, the references, the possible layers. All within a comedy sketch! Is it Ted Hastings talking to Lindsay Denton, who WAS locked in the boot of a car, and whom he believed to be guilty? Contacting Ted Hasting was the last thing Lindsay Denton did… before she DIED - IN A CAR. 

Or is Ted Hastings crossing universes to discover an alive Julia Montague in the boot of a car, and perhaps he’s just a Bodyguard fanboy deep down who knew she had to be alive? Or is Ted Hastings just a man in the Bodyguard universe discovering a presumed dead Home Secretary alive in the boot of a car? And David also said “Busted” IN season 1, so another reference.
