Warden stared at Kyou as the hero placed their hands on his snout. The lizard whined, but ultimately closed their mouth without spitting the deadly acid. They knew Kyou, they recognized him, but they weren’t happy about being asked to stop.
The beast let out a low growl as they sunk down to the ground, almost like a cat, they tucked their paws underneath them. Nudging Kyou, Warden huffed and crossed their front claws protectively behind the hero.
“There we go.” Even if Warden’s claws prevented him from rejoining the fight, his focus was on keeping his lizard of a boyfriend calm. Gently petting the rocky snout, continuing to hum to help keep another accident from happening. The chaos between the other heroes and the villain were probably a bit overwhelming at this point.
“Yes, yes, I’m okay too. Just a bit bruised is all.” Kyou smiled, giving his nose a quick kiss. “I won’t go anywhere, I promise.”
