Thanks <3 That's all right! I'm already glad the ask got through after all then, as I was afraid it had not.

I'm afraid I got a bit carried away with answering these...

6. Favourite Holmes portrayal? When I watched Basil Rathbone as Holmes after reading the stories he was exactly as I pictured him and I remain extremely fond of him and his performance! And yet... then I saw Jeremy Brett and he was all that—and so much more. All the depth he brings to his performance, all the dimensions he adds to the character and the little details and mannerisms... Jeremy Brett is just so endlessly fascinating as Holmes that he has to be my number one.

11. Headcanon about Holmes? (And do you have any favourites?) I guess my main one, which I've already made a number of annoying posts about, is that I see Holmes as aromantic and asexual (though I'm not sure if for Holmes they'd even be something separate). It feels weird to think of that as a headcanon though, because while I know other people have different interpretations, I find it so hard to interpret the text otherwise. There is a lot of evidence, anyhow. I'd also say that's my favourite as I'm very passionate about aroace Sherlock Holmes. To be honest I don't engage with the fandom enough to know what the popular headcanons are so I don't really have other favourites.

14. Who do you tend to relate to more—Holmes or Watson? Both? Definitely Holmes! There is one major difference; namely that he is very scientifically minded and I am a humanities student haha, but I relate to so many of his other characteristics! I'm definitely somewhere on the aroace spectrum and as I see him that way I really relate to him for that reason, as well as his general distaste for most other people—with the exception of course of Watson, and well, I also have a best friend who I love very dearly and hope to live with someday. I even call them "my dear fellow". I do care deeply about humanity, as I think Holmes does too, but like him I just... don't really want people near me haha. Jeremy Brett in particular plays him with a certain touch revulsion which is also relatable to me. I'm afraid I can also be a bit cold and superior like him... and some people have told me they find me intimidating... I'm also deeply passionate about some of interests, like Holmes! Yeah, lots in common.
