Insomnia AU’s pt 2

Apparently my brain is still stuck in Disney, only this time it went to the Inuyasha fandom….

Robin Hood

  • Inuyasha is Robin Hood ala the Disney Fox Era Robin Hood.

  • Sesshōmaru is King Richard the Lion(hearted)
  • It starts though with both Inuyasha/Robin Hood and Sesshōmaru/ Richard are the princes of the land. 
  • Their father dies, leaving the country to Sesshōmaru.
  • Inuyasha wants nothing to do with his title, so he takes to disguising himself and roaming the countryside with his best friend, Little John, aka Miroku for years.

  • This would be fine, except war breaks out on their borders that Sesshōmaru has to go investigate.
  • Since Inuyasha’s awol Sesshōmaru leaves Duke Naraku (Prince John’s character) in charge (because he can’t find his wayward brother to force him to do it.)
  • Naraku goes nuts. Obvi. 
  • He taxes the people into oblivion. 
  • Declares Inuyasha an outlaw, for no reason.

  • Pissed at the declaration, Inuyasha decides if people are actually going to believe that, he’s going to live up to the name.
  • So he starts to rob from the rich and give to the poor.
  • The Sheriff of Nottingham, Kouga attempts to foil his plans.
  • He’s not as evil as the sherif in the movies. More like misguided.
  • Naraku promises Kouga the hand of Maid Marion/Kagome in marriage if he helps defeat Robin Hood. 
  • Kagome, Maid Marion, protests. But there’s not much she and her nurse, Sango, can do about it. 
  • The little bunny kid, and the rest of the children from the movie (Shippo, Rin, Souta, and Kohaku) are being held captive and are the reason that Kagome and Sango won’t fight back.

  • Kagome and Inuyasha were childhood sweethearts, but she hasn’t heard from him since he went missing.
  • She obviously still loves him, but she doesn’t know how he feels about her.

  • Naraku gets frustrated because it’s taking Kouga 5EVER to catch Inuyasha.
  • So he uses an archery tournament to draw Inuyasha out. Promises the winner Kagome’s hand, rigging it so that Kouga will be the winner.

  • Plan fails because obvi Inuyasha loves Kagome and couldn’t let her just marry some dude.
  • Inuyasha ties with Kouga and some unknown third random guy. 
  • Who out shoots both of them. 
  • And turns out to be Kagome herself.

  • All hell breaks loose when she reveals herself declaring herself a free woman and will marry the man she chooses. 
  • She also has no idea that Inuyasha (the man she’s totes thinking about when she declares this) is the other dude in disguise 
  • He gets mad. 
  • Accidentally reveals himself
  • Because we know that boy can’t keep his temper under control
  • Cue the montage of them fighting their way out of there.

  • Cue mutual pining amongst the pines.

  • Naraku captures Myoga (Friar Tuck) and along with Shippo planning on hanging them. 
  • So Inuyasha sets about planning his most daring heist and rescue mission. 
  • And almost gets caught. 
  • Fight ensues. 
  • Inuyasha defeats Naraku. Kouga realizes that he’s been working for the wrong side. 
  • Turns himself in. 
  • I’m picturing Kagome standing guard over him with an arrow nocked pointed at him. 
  • After the battle’s done they both get caught up in the moment.
  • Kissy kissy happens.

  • Sesshōmaru shows up. 
  • Declares Inuyasha rightful prince of the realm and proceeds over Inuyasha and Kagome’s wedding. 
  • They live happily ever after
