before the twitter brain worms reach this site i’m just going to nip the conspiracy theory that trump doesn’t actually have covid and is lying to get a sympathy vote in the bud. he has it. we know he has it because they did not offer up hope hicks’ diagnosis willingly. a reporter scooped it. they were not going to tell us. they got caught. and now we all know. this isn’t a conspiracy. they’re just a dangerous mixture of incompetent and malevolent. he has it.
the stock market has tanked (his biggest reason for constantly downplaying the pandemic from the start) and he’s actually cancelling rallies. nothing on earth could stop him from holding super-spreader events for his cult unless he was literally bedridden from the deadly virus that he has allowed to ravage this country. he has it. he has it and he will not receive my sympathies.

Today was a sunny day
The words that masked the horror 50 years ago.
Never forget. Never forgive.
50 years ago, the Mexican State massacred hundreds of students in Tlatelolco, Mexico City.
They were peacefully protesting against the corruption and repression of the government; they were protesting against the money spent in preparation for the Summer Olympics held in Mexico City in ‘68 while farmers were starving; they were protesting because the military occupied UNAM campus (biggest and most prestigious public university in Mexico) in an attempt to quell the several protests that had been happening all around the country.
On October 2nd, 1968, around 10,000 university and high school students and many others that supported their ideals, marched to Plaza de las Tres Culturas where they gathered to peacefully listen to speeches. “We don’t want Olympics, we want revolution!” some chanted. With the Olympics being so nearby, Mexico was being closely observed by the rest of the world, so the government ordered the military forces to surround the plaza, with tanks and guns, just in case of some minor riots.
On October 2nd, 1968, Gustavo Díaz Ordáz, the then president of Mexico, ordered the military and a special force to fire against the students. They closed off the exits with tanks, they massacred women, men, children, students, journalists, neighbours, passersby… they opened fire against all of them. Then, they piled up the bodies and took them away, not before making sure that no one hid under the corpses. Yes, they fired again, making sure everyone they had piled up were dead. The following morning, there was no traces of the massacre on the Plaza de las Tres Culturas.
This massacred happened over te evening and night of October 2nd, but the newspapers of October 3rd, 1968 just highlighted the weather forecast. “Today was a sunny day”. The real facts of what happened were later revealed, but there still hasn’t been any justice for the crimes commited in Tlatelolco on October 2nd, 1968.
“In Mexico, being a student is more dangerous than being a drugdealer.”
“They wanted to bury us, but they never knew we were seeds.”
We must never forget, we must never forgive.

At first I though this was a joke
Don’t ignore this Tumblr
Yet they still do even when it’s right in their face.
This reminds me of how a friend of mine was abused by the mother of his child. She was mentally unstable and used to berate him constantly and would smack him in the head all the time. It really pissed me off. Then one night she threw hot coffee in his face and tried to stab him with a screwdriver. The cops hauled him off to jail because she made up a sob story that painted herself as the victim. Once he left her, he stayed with me and it was a nightmare. She stalked him and me. She would drive by my house obsessively at all hours of the day and night (her muffler made a weird sound so I know it was her). She started showing up at my job, showing up at the places I frequented around town, and filling up my voicemail with dead air. The cops were no help. One day she got bold enough to talk her way into my home by conning my elderly grandmother, whom I was taking care of, while I was out. She went in my room and went through my stuff (creepy), then found him napping on the couch and attacked him. My grandmother witnessed the whole thing. He grabbed her by the arms, forced her out the front door, and locked it. The cops were called again. They said they’d go and ‘talk’ to her.
The next day we were watching a movie and there was a knock at the door. The police had come to arrest him. She filed a complaint against him and shown off some bruises on her arms from the altercation that she swore were completely unprovoked. My grandmother saw the whole thing since she was in the living room too and testified on his behalf. He still ended up serving jail time. No one takes male domestic violence victims seriously. They only see males as perpetrators.
This is important. Just… everyone needs to see this.
Just as a fun fact,
If you don’t believe male victims exist, or deserve to be stood up for then you’re not a feminist. Sorry I don’t make the rules.
