Also since nobody ever responded on whether or not they wanted the DP OC Weekly Challenge Prompts I guess we’re officially getting rid of them then? Well damn, it was fun while it lasted. Thought the fandom would have enjoyed that though.

Hey sorry that we haven’t been active in a while nor have I posted a DP OC challenge prompt in the past couple of weeks. I’ve been dealing with school, but also something rather weird has been happening in the form of tumblr being buggy as hell again. Basically tumblr is refusing to let me reblog things to this blog. Like I’ll be all ready to post after adding my tags and switching the post to this side blog but when I hit the reblog button it refuses to work. It acts like it doesn’t register and I don’t know what else to do about it.
Even XKit is weird about it and when I try to reblog something to this blog via Xkit, it just sends it to my main blog which is….wellllllll…not good for my preferred anonymity. @fyeahdannyphantomoccliches works fine but I’m really concerned about this blog since I wanted to make this the main blog and just have dannyphantomoccliches be for the weird memes that everybody makes while having war flashbacks about danny phantom mary sues that they made back in middle/high school. I don’t know if it’s because I’m not the original creator of this blog and am only an invited member or…? Either way I hope it gets fixed soon because there’s a lot of OC help and inspiration that I want to reblog to this blog.
Now going to the DP OC Design/Creation Challenge Prompts…long story short I’ve been forgetting due to school but honestly…? Do you guys even want them? Almost none of the first four prompts that I’ve published have notes and we’ve only luckily gotten one person who created OCs for the first one but there has been basically no feedback whatsoever on them. I just thought that it would be fun for you guys to challenge yourselves creating OCs and all but I guess you guys don’t want it at all?
If you actually still want the weekly challenge prompts then please respond to this post (or actually better yet just send in an ask because again…reblogging problem), otherwise I’m just going to stop doing them.
Oh and one more thing, DP OC Week has started today! I hope you guys are all ready making posts and all! I’m going to try and track the tag, I may not be able to reblog your posts, but you could probably submit a link here if you’d like!

It’s time to kick off #DPOCWeek, a seven-day long event celebrating OCs for the show Danny Phantom.
The first theme of the event will be Daily Life. What sort of hobbies does your OC pursue? Do they go to school? If so, how does that go for them? How do they spend their free time? Give everyone a glipse into their day-to-day life.
Remember to use the tags #DPOCWeek (no spaces) and #Danny Phantom (with spaces) to keep things organized!

After much delay, it’s time to announce the OC Week event!
This event is made for OCs - or Original Characters - created specifically for the Danny Phantom universe. This event is for people of all talents, be it art, writing, cosplay, roleplaying, etc.
If you don’t already have an OC, you are more than welcome to make one up and work on them over the course of the event! OCs made specifically for AUs can also count. If you want to use another person’s OC for any prompts besides the last one, ask for permission from the creator. You do not have to use one OC for every day - if you have more than one OC, you’re welcome to use as many as you like for as many prompts as you want!
The official tag for this event with be #DPOCWeek with no spaces.
On the first day of this event, give us a little glimpse into the every-day life of your OC! It will help introduce them as well as aid in worldbuilding for your character.
In the show, the Fright Knight’s sword Soul Shredder realizes a person’s deepest, darkest fear. What kind of nightmare would the Soul Shredder create for your OC? Delve into the things that drive them and what terrifies them most.
This day is open-ended. Is your character good? What if they were evil? If your character is a human, what if they were a halfa or a full-ghost? Swap their role with a show character’s, or maybe swap bodies with another OC? Anything you can do to change their story, do it, and explore how it changes your character.
For this prompt, try to imagine what an episode of Danny Phantom would be like featuring your character. If your OC is a ghost, how would they antagonize Danny, and how would it be resolved? If your character is from a different time period, how would they interact with the DanPhan crew? You can go as big or as small as you want with this.
You can either use this in the obvious sense, as in the age of your OC, or perhaps take your OC on a trip through the ages with time travel or AUs. If your character is a ghost, show us how their life was when they had a life. Show us your OC at different ages. Anything involving the prompt “age”.
Take this day to go over the clothing your OC wears - perhaps use it to dress them up or just showcase the kinds of clothes they wear. Just because the characters in the show wear the same clothing every day, it doesn’t mean your OC has to!
Now that you’ve had six days to work on your own OC, show some love to another person’s! They can be interacting with your own or you can just make something for an OC you admire. If you get express permission from the OC creator, maybe do your take on their OC?
As per usual, use appropriate trigger warning tags should they be relevant, and credit the people whose OCs you use.

This is going to be a more specific challenge but this week the challenge is centering around creating a ghost OC who died in a particular decade of your choosing; though I’m going to restrict this to the 1900s-1990s. I will say that if you do this challenge you’re going to have to honestly do some good ol’ historical research~

So what kind of ghost are you guys gonna make? A teen stuck in the 50s like Sidney? A radical 80s ghost? A mod 60s ghost? A glamorous 20s/30s/40s undead starlet? As always go wild with this and don’t forget that you don’t have to have them done this week! These can be done at any time that you want!
If you want inspiration for historical clothing design then @omgthatdress is a really kickass blog to get it from and they even have everything organized by decade and time period here on their tag page.
Also while Deviantart can be complete trash, it can have some pretty good stock, specifically free vintage (second link has some vintage artistic NSFW nudes in the gallery) photograph stock that you guys can look at for inspiration and reference! Even Pinterest is pretty good with these things too! Or heck just look at old movies in general!

It’s week 2 everyone! This time the theme is Snow and Ice! Create an OC whose design and/or backstory revolve around things of a colder nature. Maybe the OC you create has ice powers, maybe they’re an ice elemental or part of Frostbite’s tribe? Maybe they’re the ghost zone equivalent of an ice queen, their outfit is winter-themed, or maybe their personality is of a more icy nature (metaphorically speaking)? Go wild!
As always, there’s no time limit and you don’t have to have them done this week, these weekly prompts are only to challenge your character creation and design skills.

Decided to go on ahead and try and kickstart these weekly theme challenges where your job is to try and create an OC that fits within whatever the theme of the week is! Though please keep in mind that you can do these challenges whenever you want, the main purpose of these is to challenge you and to have fun! So to kick things off in honor of Valentines, the first theme is going to be centered around Love~♥♥♥
And it doesn’t have to be romantic love, the character’s design/backstory/personality can be centered around any kind of love! Also it doesn’t have to be a ghost, they can be human, halfa or any kind of supernatural creature. You could just have the character had a red and pink design scheme, or maybe they have hearts incorporated into their design? Succubi and Incubi, real life “cupids” who have mind control powers and abuse them to make their “ships canon”? Maybe you can incorporate it into their personalities and have them be obsessed with fairy tale romance or just absolutely despise it! Or maybe you just want to make the girliest, frilliest and pinkest Goddamn halfa in existence, there is no limit with this, go wild!

Hey I got a question - I have some themes for the OC Week but they're p generic honestly (in that they're themes I pick for every one of my events). I'm trying to think of themes that are more indicative of OCs and maybe would help people develop them further - do you have any suggestions perchance??
Hmmmm themes that would help people develop their OCs more? Well I think I remember there being some challenges from the @dpoc-challenges-central blog that I linked some time back that might help? Like there was this challenge where you’d have to write/draw what a session that your OC would have with Spectra and go into what makes them tick psychologically. I think there was another one where you’d have to show what your OC would be like (and I think this is more for ghosts and halfas) if they got forced to join Circus Gothica? And I think there was another challenge where you’d have to create a character design turn-around of your OC too?
Themes that I myself can offer up is maybe different AUs? Like this has probably been done to death but what would the OC be like in “The Ultimate Enemy” timeline? Or hell, if they haven’t already done it, space au? Different decade AU? Like if they were born in another time? Or maybe draw/write about their family (if they have one) and/or friends? What about what their childhoods were like? What their dreams/aspirations are? What they’d be like if their species were swapped? Like if they’re currently a ghost, what they were or what they’d be like as a human or a halfa? Or if human, what they’d be like as a ghost or a halfa, etc.? How they feel about and interact with canon characters? What they’d be like older? Or maybe draw the OC at different ages, like an age chart?
Heck, there could be a day where they can draw their OC interacting with a friend’s OC or their fave DP OC? Or just draw their fave DP OC? Or even draw their OC with an OC of a person that they’re not friends with, or just draw an OC that they think needs more love?
Or finally something collaborative? Like maybe do like a silly crack rp in that phandom chat thing as a little side event?
I’m still down to do the OC Event Week, is March 14th a good day to start it?

Wellllllllllllll...you see the thing is dearie that though originally we all had codenames because well, to put this bluntly...some people in the fandom could not take criticism very well soooooooooo thus the use of code names, honestly, I want to keep the sense of anonymity. I kind of like my privacy here on this blog and also seeming like a mysterious ranting oc phantom nerd is fun as hell. So I’m gonna have to unfortunately decline since well you can always talk to me here!

If I was to make an event dedicated to OCs what would some themes be??
Yooooooooooooooooooooooooo I was actually thinking about doing weekly (or possibly even monthly, it really depends on the interest and how busy I am with school) OC design themes!
The “draw an evil/good AU of your OC” sounds good! Other ideas if you want could be, fantasy AU, space AU, roleswap AU, ghost as a human/human as a ghost AU, etc.
In reference to a previous submission, it does make sense that a kid won't want to tell their parents that they became a half ghost for the aforementioned reasons, but most of the time the way the maker does it seems really wangsty/only used to make them more perfect for Danny (because OMG they TOTALLY understand him). Especially when their parents aren't ghost hunters (which is a cliche in and of itself), there's really no reason for it to get THAT angsty.

Whelp time to finally go through the old messages (+2 new ones!) on both of these blogs. Also in other news I have truly realized how alone I am on this blog, because wow I literally just noticed that I really am the only other admin officially listed on the members page of the blog settings other than the original founder. Oh well? And while I know what’s happened with the other admins since I still talk with them, (they all lost interest in Danny Phantom and drifted to new interests which is perfectly understandable because that’s pretty much what happened with me too) I have no idea what the heckle happened with Admin L because I have not heard anything from her in a year but I hope that she’s okay and in a good place wherever she is (/╹o╹)/
