A story is a story, no matter if it's fanfiction, indie published, or traditional published 💁🏼‍♀️ I've read fanfiction that was better than traditionally published books, and I've read traditionally published books that were worse than the worst fanficton. A lot of fanfic writers I know put more research and time and love into a story than a lot of the most popular published authors (some of whom I've seen straight up not give a poo about misrepresenting the groups they took things from)

Are there bad reader x stories? Of course. But there are also many original characters stories that are just as terrible if not worse.

Just because something is x reader doesn't make it any less emotionally impactful than a published book. It's about the story.

Demigods who made it into their adult years is a fun concept because I'm just imagining a random son of Athena on his late thirties who's like, a Math teacher or something, watching the news about "the storm that was destroying half the country" and seeing through the mist that that's fucking Typhon and seeing his mom and the other gods fighting him and just. Wondering what the fuck did he miss lol
