I’m so excited to share my first transcription with you all! If you haven’t heard, I’m collaborating with @pianissimomezzoforte​ (aka @itsanidiom​) and @the-aksiz-inator​ to post Hamilton sheet music as a temporary substitute until LMM publishes the official score. As a reminder, this is the piano accompaniment only; I debated adding vocal parts as well, but considering the extra effort required to add lyrics and harmonies, I probably won’t do so unless there’s sufficient demand (and, let’s face it, we’ve all memorized the entire cast recording anyway). 

Anyways, I started notating two days ago and I’ve been tackling this project in hour-long spurts, and here we are! I knew “Satisfied” would be a challenge, seeing that it’s 5 ½ minutes long, but I still managed to underestimate how long it would take haha. There’s a lot of repetition involved, and I apologize for the sound being hollow at times without the proper percussion needed to round it out. Nevertheless, it was still a lot of fun to do and I hope you all enjoy! I look forward to working on the remaining songs.

• Even though you only know Hawaiians doesn’t mean she’s just Hawaiian, and yes, there are more islanders than just Hawaiians.
• Her name isn’t Mo-wah-nuh, its Mo-AH-NAH. Honestly don’t even get me started on this one.
•  Polynesian isn’t a language. Polynesia is a large group of islands that have their own distinct language, rich culture, and customs. There’s Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii, Easter Islands, etc…
•  Moana isn’t one race she’s everything mixed into one because there are too many cultures to just base her off of just one island.
• Maui, as you might have guessed isn’t based off of just one legend either.
• Maui’s “War Dance” is called the Haka and they do that dance to scare their enemies before battle.
• Fun fact: Moana means Ocean
• Please don’t group all of the Pacific Islanders and their cultures into one.
• Another Fun fact: Pacific Islanders are some of the best navigators of the Ocean to have ever lived. There has even been evidence of them being the first to travel to America. sorry not sorry Columbus.
• And last but not least, PLEASE LOVE MOANA AND GO AND WATCH IT IN ALL ITS GLORY
