STANUARY WEEK 1 - LOVE
My entry for @stanuary. And how could I resist drawing some good ol’ Fiddlestan?
I just liked the idea of these two exchanging headwear and having matching t-shirts like the cute bi couple they are. Fidds’ shirt is supposed to say ‘YES I YAM’ but I couldn’t find a way to show it off from this position haha.
This is also my try at coloring with a different color palette, so I hope it looks good!

Anyone else as salty as me that none of the Gnommish symbols in the new Artemis Fowl Trailer are correct? Because I can literally fucking read that shit and I'm sitting here like “"Those ain't the right symbols Disney, da fuck?”
So like, no lie here. I have been waiting for an Artemis Fowl me for LITERALLY 15 years. I am stoked to finally get one.
That being said.....there are some pretty obvious flaws that I'm already starting to see *coughHOLLYcough*. Plus, it's Disney, which doesn't give me good feelings. So I'm this weird bubble of like....I NEED this to be good. I love AF, and for it to be any less than good would shatter my heart. But I'm worried it won't be.
Please, Disney and Kenneth. I beg you. READ THE FRIGGEN BOOKS,and give us the movie we've been dying for for years. Pretty please with an acorn on top.

I could be wrong but I think Holly Short was the only character I pictured as brown as a kid. Why? Because she was explicitly and constantly described as such. I read a lot of classical literature and young adult/kids adventure books and I was a child, I wasn’t going through the mental loop of ‘hey maybe this character isn’t white, picture them as something else for a change’ because it wasn’t an issue I was aware of. So them making Holly white is really really shitty because now kids aren’t gonna have the little angry elf I had in my head as a kid. Movie visuals are pretty powerful and it’s hard to override them in your head.
