Hello, I'm making another post so it'll gather more traction, because in case some of you missed it a week ago sometime ago (this was sitting in my drafts for a few weeks had to consult myself with my team lol) I made this post talking about a potential OLBA week event.

And I'm happy to announce that it will happen!! I already gathered a small group of people to help with administration and running the event, also a poll with the prompts should come out by the end of may, so keep your eyes up for that!!

Again the actual event will be hosted between the last week of July and first week of August I'm not quite sure of the dates just yet, again have to consult with my team first, but I think by the time the poll is up the dates will also be set, thank you for the support on the Tumblr poll and again if you guys could reblog so more people will know about it will be highly appreciated it 🙏

Everyday I'm baffled and enraged that we have to share a planet with people who think it's fine that we now regularly see videos of the exploded insides of children's heads. I have seen so many dismembered, destroyed children , and this is through the screen of my phone, I can't imagine how it is to be face to face with these horrors.

This is the straight forward way to deprive a disabled person of their financial freedom and independence and trap them into possible abusive relationships.

I really don't know how to explain to people that supporting gender liberation (liberation for trans people, liberation for gnc people, liberation from all oppressive gender roles) means you have to be able to see someone you think is cis "crossdressing" and be cool about it. You have to be able to see someone presenting in a way that doesn't make sense to you and not interrogate them about their identity. You have to be able to hear someone express a gender identity you don't understand and go "Huh! Neat," and go about your business. If you truly want gender liberation for all then you have to stop trying to exert control over other people's genders, period.

One thing that MASSIVELY pisses me off is how fainting is shown in media. It’s always the person sways a little, collapses in one movement, and then is unconscious for like… fucking ages??? They wake up hours later tucked under a blanket and it’s acted like that’s normal. It’s NOT. A person that’s fainted should be back with you pretty quickly, actually:

I had an experience in my last work place where I fainted, but because it looks so different to how it’s shown in film and TV my managers had no idea what had happened. Here’s a comparison of usual media vs my actual fainting that they were all confused by-

Films, TV shows, plays etc:

1) Person goes “oh goodness” or something similar whilst holding hand to chest

2) eyes roll back, gracefully falls to the floor

3) nearby people see the poor fainted person, pick them up, put them on a bed or sofa

4) person comes to hours or even days later with no idea what happened and everyone else is just like “oh good you’ve woken up 🙂”

My usual fainting experience:

1) Everything starts spinning. Incapable of making words as my sole focus is on trying to get myself to the ground ASAP

2) Stumble to floor/chair/ anything I can lean against

3) Quick violent slump as actual faint occurs. There is no dainty falling- the whole body has hit shut down. Usually smack my head on the floor if I haven’t managed to get myself somewhere soft

4) Aware of surroundings almost immediately, but takes a few seconds to fully come back round

5) Carefully sit back up and explain to everyone going “what the fuck happened” that I fainted, and no, I do not need smelling salts actually.

My experience of fainting is that everything goes fzzmfpfosidfkssfdksljfjsjdf and then less than a second later I am like, “Oh.  A floor.”  The time this happened, I was already processing again (if only at the level of, “Oh.  A floor,” and “so where the fuck did my toothbrush go”) before other people could address questions like Why Was There A Loud Thump In The Bathroom and Are You All Right.
