Man, you are absolutely here asking the best questions, because it is without a doubt the fight roleplay between Joey and @2etokaiba that B and I did a few years back. Tumblr has since murdered the formatting but I turned it into a self-indulgent google doc because this shit is so much fun to re-read.

It’s a tie. Either Good Omens (Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman), which is a childhood favourite of mine. I own about three copies and all of them are ruined. Or Trainspotting (Irvine Welsh).

Fluff is great but I think I run out of steam for it quickly if there isn’t an established plot - I find angst easier to write because it almost always had direction?
"I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to die lonely and single." Honda's voice came out sounding unusually glum and /morose/ as he idly pushed at the fries on his plate. Tonight, even Burger World didn't seem to lift his spirits. "I thought it was goin' /great/ with her, but then she just stopped answering my calls." He snorted a small laugh. "That's what, ghosting is the term for it now?" (CHINHANDS)
Joey pulled a face: he hated seeing his best friend like this. He usually relied on Honda for his strength of character and determination, so when something really pulled him down like this, it showed. He reached over to steal a fry from his plate, munching on it as he lounged back in the booth chair, fixing him with a scrutinising stare.
“What did you say to her? You must’ve said something.”
He doubted it, to be honest. Honda was a great guy, a catch really, and seemed to be so much more natural with girls than he was (he remembered being jealous about it in High School). He gave him a sympathetic sigh.
“Yeah, you’re getting ghosted hard, bud.”

Hey! Sorry for the mobile response, still can’t get to my computer for a few days. I’ll format this when I get a chance, haha.
Yes, he does. Since this particular Jou is pretty much a Season Zero adjacent post-canon divergent muse, he’s fallen into a lot of old habits and that includes sweeping his hair back / pinning back some of his bangs. It keeps it out of his eyes better for fighting, especially as his eyesight isn’t especially good.
Freckles are a big part of my appearance headcanon for him. Since Shizuka is ginger, I assume those genes that usually go along with red hair run in his family. So, freckles. He dyes his hair (in the original S0 manga he was auburn-brunette-ish for a while when panels were painted, before he was recoloured, so it’s a play on that).
I guess I also tend to draw and write him with heavy-lidded/dark ringed eyes? He doesn’t sleep well / ever.
The bandaids and plasters I add to the Picrews are usually just a call back to the fact that Joey is heavily into streetfighting again in this canon. He’s never without a bruise or busted lip.

i am a slow roleplayer. not only do i get distracted easily, i get overwhelmed easily. sometimes i can’t talk and do drafts at the same time so i am sorry if i ignore your message. i am deliberate and methodical with every word choice. i like to spend my time on my writing and getting to that emotional level within myself to evoke a proper response with each reply. i’m not good at whipping out thread after thread. i never have been. i’m sorry if that’s the way you roleplay and i don’t match up, but i like to think the quality of the writing makes up for my lack of speed. thank you so much!
