the fact that i survived my 20s is nothing short of astonishing. there's over a quarter of a century of my life that's just gone. i'm never getting it back. if you can stop that happening to someone then please for the love of god do it
Our local newspaper ran a story about the legendary graffiti artist who recently passed away and. Literally everything about it is fucking insane. I'm insane about it.
So this guy has been extremely active for around fifteen years, during which he spread these beautiful, high quality pieces all over the country, way over a thousand of his standard signature, and probably thousands more. He did completely batshit stuff like literally spray painting an entire train from top to bottom or leaving his signature at the top of a 600ft tall overpass and this whole time, only five people from his crew know who he really is. To everyone else it's a complete mystery.
And then he dies at the age of 35. A few weeks after his death, his crew shows up at his completely unassuming parents' doorstep, reveals who they are and asks if they can host a memorial exhibition of his art.
Turns out, this dude has been leading an insane double life. In the daytime he was a meek little office worker with a partially paralyzed arm and no social life to speak of. In the nighttime he was a fucking legend. Not only did he climb that fucking 600ft overpass, he did it WITH A PHYSICAL DISABILITY. THE MADLAD. And throughout the entire time, fifteen years, he got caught once. ONCE. HE DID ALL THAT UNNOTICED. THAT'S INSANE.

Oh man the support for gay marriage in the USA (a thing that's been legal since 2015 and the law of the land since 2022) is backsliding, even though it's not even on the forefront of the culture war anymore. While I'm not too sure if this can then morph into a movement to repeal the Respect for Marriage Act (gotta give the dems credit; that's a funny one), the evangelicals actually got the strategy right for once. That is, whipping up specifically transmisogynistic panic, knowing that the rest of the society, including the rest of the LGBT+ community, is happy to let trans women be the punching bag, has allowed them to get their foot in the door for the discussion of other LGBT+ rights, including the ones that the "polite" society thought was "settled." Every single one of you whipping up panics about trans women you don't like being pedos or channers or whatever to social murder them and/or passively allowing transmisogynists to do so and even spreading these have made your bed and no matter how "progressive" you see yourself, you're now lying in your bed with the likes of the Daily Wire and Elon Musk.
