new year new me, yeah? one can hope this year will be different! for those who don’t follow I lost my mom and dad to cancer and prescription drug interaction. I caught Covid and was left with lasting heart issues. I was living in my car for a while, and lost my job but thankfully have secured housing and got a new job. Then another person totaled my car, broke my leg (& back) and I’m still dealing with the repercussions of that. In all honesty, this isn’t even the half of it, but I just am looking for any help so that I hopefully won’t need to beg for help all year. Any help towards my rent, the car rental I have, my heart medication, the doctors visits/medications/therapy from the accident, or even just helping someone out who lost their parents. I don’t have anyone, no siblings all my grandparents died, it’s just me (& my incredible friends). So if anyone can help with reblogs and donations of any amount would be so helpful, I’m just trying to raise a large amount so I won’t be stuck asking repeatedly.

Someone asked for my pronouns the other day, and nobody ever asks, so in a flustered moment of weakness I replied "Oh, I see you've sensed my queer energy", like some kind of dungeon warlock

Last night I had a dream that was about a family of three guys, a father and two sons, all together on a fishing trip and some woman came up and said “Oh, what are your guy’s names?” and the father went “My name’s Dean, and this is my son Bean.” and the woman gestured to the other son questioningly and the dad got the most upset, disappointed look on his face and went “That’s my other son, Sean.” and I’ve never woken up laughing harder in my life.

NOTHING in classical literature gets me like odysseus introducing himself to the people who are putting him up as “I am Odysseus, known for my many clever tricks and lies” like i would want that man out of my house immediately

I'm begging y'all at this point - please stop sharing Patreon content. You are hurting Thomas and Co and all of us other patrons.

What y'all are doing will actually impact the Co financially.

Today the Co gave us a discount code for the shop. It took only a few hours for someone to say that they saw a patreon code on Twitter.

Please, stop.

I know some of y'all might say, "well, if you have patreon, you don't need it - since you have money. Let those of us who can't afford the Patreon have the code."

The discount is a PERK. We give the Co money and they give us a discount. If you use the patreon code without being in the patreon, you're causing the Co to lose money. Therefore, they may not keep this perk.

Say, for example, you went to Hot Topic and make a purchase. If you don't know, Hot Topic cashiers will normally drop a discount card into your bag once you make a purchase. It is an incentive to keep you coming back to Hot Topic/keep you spending money. Imagine you go behind the counter and steal one of those discount codes.

You didn't pay for anything, yet you took something you didn't pay for. That discount card is an incentive.

That's exactly the same thing with the patreon. Yet, somehow people are justifying it because it is non-tangible - because it's virtual.

The more this happens, the more likely Co will take away perks. If they can't trust us not to spread info outside of patreon, then they won't give it to us. Simple.

I'm begging you, please stop. Thomas and Co are a small group of independent YouTubers. They do not have millions of dollars to spend. If you want to see my breakdown of Thomas and Co's patreon and why I applaud them for making it, check out my "Defending Thomas's Patreon" post. I explain there why artists need a stable income to create content.

You all sharing content are disrespecting Thomas and Co and all of your fellow patrons. We just want to support the Co. Please stop taking advantage of their kindness/their incentives. They are already giving us so much with the patreon. Please, don't make them regret it.

If you don't have a patreon, you're not missing out on any content. None of the stuff that happens in there are plot-related. Trust me, I know. This is all just extra stuff. You aren't missing a thing.

I am trying so hard to be nice about this. If this continues, I will honestly have to stop trying. This isn't fair to anyone.

Please, stop sharing Patreon content. You are hurting everyone.

plus a friendly reminder that Thomas and his team are a SMALL team. they're not a multimillion-dollar industry. they're not Hot Topic or Disney or Amazon. what you do can legitimately hurt Thomas and his whole team. yes it's still bad when people do things to hurt stores but it's even worse when it's a small group of QUEER CREATORS.

if this keeps happening i would not be surprised if perks were removed or moved up to the limited tiers. and then people will go down to cheaper tiers because it's not worth it anymore, and that will DIRECTLY AFFECT THE INCOME OF THOMAS AND HIS FRIENDS.
