“My, you look pretty.”

She grins at him from the other side ofthe bar, flashing those pearly whites as she bites into that full bottom evenas she shakes her head and replies, “I bet you say that to all of the girls.”

His smirk turns softer as he answers,“Only one.” And then, because he wants to, he adds, “But I mean it, you lookabsolutely stunning tonight.” Because she does.

Her cheeks burn a soft pink as shedrops her gaze to her purse shyly before looking at him from beneath those longlashes and thanking him needlessly.

“You’re welcome,” he takes a hand fromthe bar and presses a kiss to her knuckles before releasing it. He straightensup from where he’d been leaning over the bar to speak to her and nods at herpurse, “Put that away, this round’s on me.” He’s already made their drinks andhad Will carry them over on a tray so that she doesn’t have to worry and so,when she levels him with an amusedly exasperated look that reads, So why didyou let me stand here? he grins boyishly and replies, “Can’t blame me forwanting a few extra seconds to ogle you.”

She rolls her eyes at his terribleflirting but smiles all the same before she turns and sashays away from thebar, her hips absolutely sinful and her toned legs entrancing.

She’s on something of a girls’ nightout with her colleagues from work and he loves that they’d chosen to come herefor the simple reason that he gets to watch her when she isn’t aware of hisgaze. He still can’t get over how beautiful she is and she doesn’t even knowit. Not really. He curses her Mother’s vicious tongue sometimes.

Regina slips back into the booth Malhad booked for them, tugging at the hem of her skirt to keep it from rising asshe laughs in response to something her friend has said and how he wishes hecould hear that lovely sound. Instead, he can only imagine as he moves to servehis next customer.

“Things look to be getting serious withyou two,” her friend muses with a nudge, breaking Regina’s lingering eyecontact with a certain barman as she turns to look at Mal, “you really likehim, huh?”

Her stomach flutters and she cursesherself for feeling so affected just at the thought of her relationship withRobin - she’s utterly besotted, it seems - but she answers honestly and with anod. “I really do.”

Mal says nothing more, just looks herover for a moment longer before she nods herself and replies with a firm andgenuine, “Good,” as she subtly places a hand on Regina’s knee beneath the tableand squeezes, “I’m glad to see you so happy.”

He takes back what he’d thought before,about how glad he is that they’ve chosen his bar as their venue for the nightbecause they’re all up dancing now that the house lights have been turned offin favour of the large lantern lights Will had suggested he get for the weekendcrowd - in all honesty, it gives the place more of a club vibe and it seems towork for the most part - and Regina and her gorgeous rear have been thoroughlydistracting him for the past twenty minutes.

It’s not so much her arse that’s gottenhim all hot and bothered - though it’s an important factor - it’s the strip ofthigh visible between the hem of her skirt and the top of her boots. He wantsto lick over that delectable skin, to bury his head between her strong thighsand never resurface for air. She knows what she’s doing to him as well, keepssmirking over at him every time she glances back to find him looking. He can’thelp it though, she’s incredible.

“Okay, so living in the same apartmentas you, I know that neither of you are holding out on the other,” John commentswith a shake of his head as he drops down into the seat opposite Robin,chuckling at the way the owner clears his throat bashfully, “so why the hellhave you been drooling over her for the past half hour instead of doing somedamn work?”

John’s just teasing him, Robin knowsthat but still he laughs pitifully and replies, “I don’t even know. I’ve neverbeen so affected by someone in all of my life, she walks into a room and mybrain just snaps in two,” he heaves a heavy sigh, letting his gaze move backover to her as he leans with palms propping him up against the bar and adds,“she’s all that I’ve been able to think about since the day I met her. It’scrazy.”

“Wow,” John breathes out a laugh, “Imean, I knew you were into her, Robin but, Christ, I hadn’t realised, mate.”

Robin frowns, tearing his gaze awayfrom her to look at John as he asks, “Hadn’t realised what?”

He shrugs, lifting himself back up fromhis stool and smirking as he replies, “That you’re in love with her,” before scamperingof rather quickly and leaving Robin to stare dumbfoundedly into the space he’djust been filling.
