¶ + Weather?

Optimus enjoys severe weather and, to an extent, natural disasters━━he is proactive in such situations, and the narrow focus that immediate disaster response requires forces him to devote all of his considerable processing power and energy toward solving the immediate issue. When this works out well, it is extremely satisfying for him. ( Of course, for him to enjoy the crisis requires that no-one die in the event, or else he’ll feel too guilty. )
His favourite sort of weather overall is a mild storm. Nothing big enough to cause danger, but enough to feel the electricity in the air and the thunder reverberating through his struts.

¶ + Matrix of the Leadership?

Integrating the Matrix and being physically changed into the form of the Bearer has left Optimus with a certain amount of disconnect between his conception of himself and the body he inhabits. This manifests most obviously as a... lack of squeamishness with regards to injuries inflicted upon him━━he feels pain and processes the injury just fine; it just doesn’t matter so much to him as it might to another person. Most Cybertronians are fairly resilient to trauma derived from severe injuries due to their eminent repairability, but Optimus in particular stands out in this regard.
He is well aware that the Matrix is responsible for this particular trait, but he has never minded it. As long as he takes care not to lose awareness of any injuries he sustains, it doesn’t cause him any trouble.

Millennia?” There’s now a note of real distress in Megatron’s voice. “We lose Cybertron itself? I don’t understand. Even Starscream can’t be that much a fool—the organics view us as prey, slaves at best. That would be our doom. What happened—what could possibly happen?”
He wants to dismiss it with a shrug and a declaration that it won’t be so in his ‘verse, but he won’t. Enough horrors have already come to pass. It’s easy to stand here in his comfortable little room in Autobot Headquarters, the nicest space he’s ever been able to call his own, with good fuel in his tanks and as many datapads as he likes lining the walls, and declare such destruction impossible. But it is not easy to see a way to bring Optimus and the Decepticons to surrender. The Autobots are doing well enough, but not so well to make an overwhelming strike like that possible.
The idea that this war might leak on… it’s all too imaginable, and it scares him.

「♚」 ◦      WHERE TO START ? How to explain the myriad factors and trails which led Cybertron into self-immolation, the near-complete annihilation of a galactic empire and a species once numbering in the tens of billions? There is no answer━━not without delving into a hundred thousand vorn of history first.

...perhaps he need not examine the excruciating details in this conversation. Megatron does not seem to be a historian; a war leader is more likely to be satisfied with a rough summary of events.

❝ There were many mistakes made━━many of them long before my time. The failure of the Empire to heed the distress of its people, the failure of leaders to heed the welfare of their followers, the inability and unwillingness of those betrayed once too often to come to the bargaining table and forge a treaty. We all played a role in our own downfall and unfortunately the sunk costs by the time some of us realised were too great to turn back upon. ❞

Interesting that this Megatron espouses such views upon organics, he idly notes ( nothing more than an excuse to draw his thoughts away from the despair of the all-encompassing war ). The prevailing view within his own universe was almost the opposite━━Golden Age Cybertron had not thought much of the capabilities of organic life.
