Fun fact:
My husband is my caregiver
He literally needs to cook and clean for me, he has to help me shower, get my clothes for me (I dress myself though), he loads up my wheelchair in the car, he has to drive me everywhere I go, does almost all the shopping alone, he needs to work to provide for me, he helps me stretch and do exercises to keep my legs healthy and keep them functional so I don’t end up completely paralyzed. He’s my occupational therapist (his actual career), and I’m his patient; I’m completely dependent on him because of my disability
But I’m also his spouse
I’m a grown ass adult, I’m 21 years old, I’m not a child, I don’t speak like a child, I don’t act like a child, he doesn’t treat me like one, he doesn’t talk down to me, he doesn’t ‘punish’ me for behaving poorly (like when I call him douchenugget or curse like a sailor), he treats me like an equal because I’m only a year his junior, we ARE equals
THIS is my problem with the CG/L community, because they sexualize disabilities, they make a relationship like this one inherently sexual when it’s not. The fact I’m married to my caregiver doesn’t change the fact that I’m not submissive to him, the fact I’m dependent on him doesn’t make me any less of his equal
I’m not a “little”, he’s my caregiver but he’s not dominate over me, he is my caregiver because I’m disabled, so if the CG/L community could stop sexualizing my situation that would be fucking grand
Idk, I’m just ranting but I saw the bullshit post @ciel-against-cgl had to deal with from a little arguing the anti community was ableist for being against the CG/L relationship. Well I’m an anti and I’m fucking disabled, so what is their argument now?
