the changelings are gonna fight the falcae!
“I find that hard to believe...” comments the wanderer. The Falcae then takes a moment. “Considering I am one of the last of my kind... right?”
“There seems to be some talk about an name I once knew.” comments the voice of an certain Falcae. “The Corvici..” there’s an noticeable and deep sigh.
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. "I can teach you what I know" he confirmed before then saying. "But It may be better if we find somewhere to sit in silence, so I can teach you mind to mind, so I can see and make use of an simulacra of an similar style of blade."
“I can find us a place. This way, I’ll make sure no one is near so we can have some peace.”
‘There were plenty of nooks and crannies all over the hive where they could sit in silence. There were a few rooms just near the entrance meant for detaining trespassers found near the gate. For now, their purpose would still be learning, but not from an intruder, but from a guest. Still, Onyx sent a mental order to the guards stationed and had them dispersed before leading the Wanderer past a metal door.’
“This way friend, we shouldn’t be bothered beyond these doors. The buzzing shouldn’t be a problem here.”
“Alright then, let us see” came the responce from the wanderer, watching the changeling’s every move.
When the changeling struck with an upwards sweep, the wanderer would immediately give ground to try and avoid the first strike. He then, when he was successful in avoiding the first strike, the wanderer managed an ad-hoc parry of the second strike, maintaining his distance as he brought the blade up executed an parry manoeuvre Unlike the last time, it would likely be obvious that the wanderer was having to work to keep his defence sturdy and unyielding. The wanderer, when the changelings second strike was completed and parried, moved forward.
The wanderer’s first strike, when it came, was an right diagonal strike. This strike was simply aimed at forcing the changeling back before he would (if successful) segue into an second strike, turning his blade and delivering an second left diagonal strike. Depending on the changelings prior knowledge, Onyx may be able to determine that the wanderer was attempting to probe the changelings defensive style, looking for weaknesses.
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. "I can teach you what I know" he confirmed before then saying. “This way friend, we shouldn’t be bothered beyond these doors. The buzzing shouldn’t be a problem here.”
The wanderer quietly listened and watched the changeling as they proceeded to relax their body and try the stance again, before proceeding run through what he had said. When they asked if he would care to go another round.. the ancient falcae smiled slightly before then backing up so as to get some distance between him and the changeling. “Correct and I would definitely be up for another round.” he smiled. assuming an ready stance once he was satisfied he was far enough away.
After a moment, once in the stance. he spoke. “Perhaps, if you would like, after this round I could teach you some ways to use the curved Falcae tip of the blade during combat” he calmly offered. The wanderer then relaxed his arms slightly so as to be able to react slightly faster to an attack than if his arms were tensed. He then paused before saying. “Shall we begin?” watching the changeling carefully as he waited for them to attack, or for them to make an move.
“To first hit?” he then asked, clearly wanting to lay down specific guidelines as to when the round would end. The ancient Falcae could not help but smile as he waited for the round to begin, enthusiastic about the fact he was going to get to spar again. In this mindscape… able to see at least in this mindscape. He then paused before saying. “If we.. go any further than that, then it may be better if we both wore training armour.”
“Something which I can make appear if needed.”
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. When Onyx recovered and looked back at him, the wanderer maintained an slight smile as he looked at the changeling. He then, when the changeling replied and said how they would appreciate what he could teach him as he was fast so he should correct him when needed, the ancient falcae nodded once. “As you wish.” he responded before he lowered his blade. He then, as the changeling took to their battle stance before going stiff, began to walk around them.
After a few moments spent evaluating the changelings stance, he reached out and lightly tapped one of the changelings arms. “When your preparing to engage someone, keep your blade slightly closer than that, try to give yourself as much room as possible to parry or counter as needed.” he began, moving around as he let out an small ‘hm’
“Also, you need to have an specific aim when you strike when facing an skilled opponant.” he told the changeling. “A skilled opponant will kill you if you just charge without an aim in mind” The wanderer then moved slightly closer to the changeling. “However, if you were to have charged as you had” he began before assuming an similar stance to the changeling before charging forward.
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. "I can teach you what I know" he confirmed before then saying. Smiling, the ancient Falcae watched the changeling, maintaining an calm and firm grip on his blade as the changeling told him that they were ready before charging forward.
The wanderer, with his centuries of experience, calmly took an step back as the changeling charged. As he did so, he raised his own blade high parrying with an side sweep as the two blades clashed before he then stepped back slightly, putting some distance between him and the changeling. As he moved, he spoke. “Good strike Kaiser, though there are things I can show you to improve your technique” he commented.
As soon as there was enough distance between him and the changeling for him to launch an attack of his own, he attacked. The wanderer’s blade arched diagonally towards the changeling as the wanderer stepped forward, one hand holding the hilt with the other held closer to the blade of the sword itself. The wanderer kept his face passive as he swung his blade, intending to (if the changeling managed to recover and parry his blade in time) , turn his blade slightly so the curved point stopped an few inches away from the changelings neck.

Once their two minds connected there would, for an time, be darkness. An all consuming lack of everything. Something that would give at least some hint about how it was to be blind, or to have your eyes closed. Then, the changeling would in themselves in an strange landscape. At first, the landscape seemed relatively formless, an expansive white space devoid of people and lacking shape.
After a moment, as the changeling spoke, the landscape shifted, the wanderers form shifting so as to be clad in training attire as the landscape took the appearance of Falcae training hall with simple marbled walls and weapons on racks. The ancient Falcae, when they proceeded to speak, asking what this was and how they got there, before saying how confused they were. The wanderer, his eyes not looking blinded in this mental landscape, smiled as he stood there.
‘Onyx was happy to see the change in environment. It was odd, yet very familiar to the former kaiser. Things were, in a way, comforting. The changeling felt at home in a place of fighting and controlled violence. With a smile and a bounce to his step, Onyx gladly buzzed over towards the weapons rack and took a blade for himself. His figure for fighting would have to be bipedal and claws since it was hard to swing a sword with telekinesis or hoof like limbs. A few swings through the air were practiced to make sure the blade felt like the one he used often at home. When the practice swings were done with, Onyx nodded in satisfaction and turned to the changed Wanderer.’
“Let’s~. You look different Wanderer. Is it bad that I thought you actually had no eyes under that mask? Heh heh.”
‘With a grin and a heart for the sword, Onyx raised his blade up and stood at the ready, eager to learn from the ancient Falcae.’
The wanderer allowed himself an small smile as the changeling buzzed over to the weapons rack and retrieved a blade, glad that the changeling seemed to be happier now that the landscape looked like an falcae training hall. He, as the changeling proceeded to indulge in a few practice swings, did the same. Executing two practice swings of the blade, reacquainting himself with the weight and length of an Falcae war-blade. He then, when they turned to look at him, smiled slightly. Despite the fact that he was here to train someone else, he was still enjoying being where he was... and the prospect of training with an blade again. Training in the Ta-da’el was an little thing that he found himself to have truly missed.
The ancient Falcae was then pulled out of his thoughts by the changeling’s words. He listened to Onyx as they began to speak, before pausing and commenting on his appearance. This caused the wanderer to smile. “Its not that bad.” he replied before then adding. “As long as you don’t tell other people I have eyes.” he then added jokingly.
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. The wanderer listened as the changeling proceeded to warn him that they were part of the hive mind and that they would have to block out their brethren. He then gave an small nod of understanding when they said that they intended to block out the hive so as to give them some mental privacy. “Alright.” he then said, calmly before adding. “That is admittedly quite wise.” he conceded.
The ancient Falcae then quietly listened and watched the changeling’s aura as they both sat in silence for a moment. When Onyx then spoke, indicating that he was ready to start. He then, as the changeling allowed an breath to escape, took an moment to prepare himself. “Alright” he began. “When I begin, I will cease to be able to directly see your aura, my focus will be on the link.” he explained.
“I will be entirely blind.” He then took a moment before he said. “I will now begin.” As he said this, his blind eyes began to glow... as he began to reach out to Onyx with his mind. He then started to begin the link. “Do you feel that?” he then asked, as he touched the changelings mind with his own. “When you are ready, allow your mind to join with mine” he then told the changeling as he formed the psychic area where they would be training, something that would look like reality to both him and the changeling while waiting for the changeling to link their mind with his.

When the changeling said that he could find them a place and said this way, the wanderer nodded before focusing on the changeling’s aura. He then followed Onyx as they walked.
The wanderer, as they progressed walked, tapping out an path with his staff as they walked before he then stopped as Onyx spoke. The falcae quietly listened to the changeling before speaking when the changeling had finished speaking after having led him into what he presumed was a room due to the comment about the doors. “May I ask if there is anywhere we could perhaps sit?” he asked, unable to see the room itself due to the fact that there did not (at first inspection) appear to be any other living auras except for that of Onyx.
“As we should probably sit down before we begin.” he then continued “As our awareness of the real world will be reduced… if not completely replaced by the mental realm.” he explained. The falcae fell silent, keeping his emotions to himself as he awaited the kaisers responce, watching their aura.
“Yes, here. I have a couple of chairs for us.”
‘Onyx had to mentally slap himself as he forgot the Wanderer wasn’t just someone who can’t see and still get around. The wanderer was well and truly blind to anything other than living beings. The Wanderer and Onyx’s son Corvan shared a trait then. Objects posed a problem in unfamiliar places to Corvan, so it was safe to assume the same could be said about the Wanderer. Onyx’s foot gently moved the cane towards the chair so that the Wanderer could tell exactly where it was.’
“The chair you can have is at the end of your cane friend. I’ll sit across from you. Be mindful, there is also a table in here as well between us.”
‘Without much hesitation, Onyx sat down and rested his claws on the table. Chairs didn’t agree with a quadruped body, so a bipedal one would do, even if he his back hunched forward.’
The wanderer, when the changeling responded, allowed himself an nod to acknowledge the changelings response. “Alright.” he then replied.
When the changeling then tapped his blade staff/cane, the ancient Falcae allowed the changeling to move his staff, before feeling his staff hit an solid object. He then listened to the changeling as they explained what was at the end of the cane and what was in-front of the chair and that the changeling would sit across from him.
Nodding in response, he then said. “Alright” before then continuing. “Thank you for your aide” he then added. Once he had said this, the ancient falcae proceeded to carefully move towards the chair, one hand slightly raised. When his hand then reached the chair and touched it, he very carefully sat down, carefully sliding his legs under the table.
After a moment, he spoke. "My sword play has not seen much use, but I have had more than a few centuries to keep it from being completely lost." he then paused. What magic can you do?
“Not much anymore, most of my magic is focused on my mage sight.” The Falcae replied. “Before that... im not sure... though I remember some things about being able to cast higher magic.”
“Though memories from that time... are a bit fuzzy”
The greyface proceeds to nod before starting to slide his hands in an series of motions. A series of runes then appeared in the air, pulling the forested area close to them to side to side. It then seemed to shorten at least part of the area as the anon said. As ye wish, follow me honored elder. The anon keeps an moderately slow pace as he led her to where two figures were dwelling within a clearing. "There they are."
“Thanks a lot, young grayface… if you say this person knew me in the past I’ll be happy to meet them…”Said this, the old woman started to walk in the two people’s direction.
When the rat monster turned human proceeded to respond, saying about how they had both actually tried to help her people while she was unable to do so. The wanderer, due to his experiences, well aware of the fact that the she-rat’s words seemed to be bitter, something which suggested that their thoughts were bitter. He knew this because he had felt a similar way and had used similar words, when his own species, the Falcae had faced their doom a long.. long time before.
“As you said, we simply did as best as we could to save as many monsters as we are able, some of those we saved even coming from areas around your city.” the wanderer then out an sigh “I imagine that my friend would agree when I say, we only wish we could have done more.”
You don’t remember your own name?, Why? What caused you to forget something like that? I mean, its your own name! You can't have just forgotten it!
“I indeed can’t remember my own name and well.” The featureless mask moved, facing away from the voice for a moment. “You indeed can’t just forget something like an name.” he agreed. “You see, mine was taken from me an long long time ago, along with some other things as well.”
A chuckle rang out from behind the mask “You could say, what they took from me.. made the wanderer without eyes.”
“An small irony in the sea of time that I doubt I will ever forget.”
