Grim nodded. “Oh yes, the amount of…people that I deal with who try to beat around the bush and sugar coat things. Or out right lie…” she trailed off with an exaggerated shudder and roll of her green-gold eyes. The ones who lied infuriated her the most.
“Word games are very fun.” She responded brightly. Though not many liked to play with her because of how she tended to play those games. Then again, being seven hundred years old did give her a certain advantage. “It is a good thing then that neither of us feels the need to defend ourselves.” Grim simply agreed. To be fair though, she wouldn’t have used fists. Why use mundane things when you could simply use magic to achieve your goal?
The Cat pressed her lips together to keep from smiling, or outright laughing. She knew how her name sounded and how it compared to her looks. It’s why she’d kept the name. “What’s the worst name you’ve ever heard?” She asked curiously. “Darling, I think as you may have noticed, I’m the complete opposite of my name…in most ways. However, I wouldn’t say no to some fun. What’s your idea of fun?”
Izzy wrinkled her nose. She couldn’t help it. Lies had a very special flavor that was all their own, like the bitter feeling in tha back of one’s throat when they had a nasty cold. Serious lies just felt… oily and wrong. Much like sleazy used car salesmen. “Yeah, lying’s not my thing. Unless some is really good at it,” like, Olympic titanium medalist good, “I know. And it’s never appreciated. Those are the people I stop associating with. Really damned fast.”
Word games were awesome. Especially when combined with drinking games. Anytime she could find an excuse to slide a double meaning into something she said - especially when it left her conversational companion wondering if that was really what she’d meant - was absolutely one of the moments she lived for. “Agreed. I much prefer the path of peace, unless the situation otherwise calls for something else. So far?” She grinned, “Not feeling the need for anything drastic.”
Naturally, that could change on a moment’s notice, but she wasn’t about to try pressing the other woman’s buttons.
The worst name she’d ever heard. Huh. Of all the clients she’d worked withbtheough the years, there was one name that stood out. “I’m sure there are worse names out there, but I legit did a project for a guy whose name was Dick Straight. He wasn’t… straight, that is, so I have no idea if his name was accurate or not. I have a rule. It’s very simple, and one i find helps to keep things in life simple. No relationships with clients. But, I’d be totally lying if I said I wouldn’t have broken that rule that one time.”
Because really. Enquiring minds needed to know!
Besides, such activities were known to be fun, otherwise people wouldn’t engage in them. “Oooo… fun…. well, a lot depends on the company. If I’m left to my own devices, there’s usually dancing and bars involved.” And whatever adult activity she found in said bars or nightclubs. “Some light gambling over a pool table, or good natured bets about who can drink who under the table… Sometimes, fun is just me and my forge. It really depends on the day.” Bright eyes fixed on Grim’s face curiously, an easy grin on her lips. “You? What’s your poison?”
