she scoffs,   taking another look at the headline before tossing the paper aside with a shake of her head.   “   as if anyone’s TRUE plight is even reported in there.   it’s all overblown and exaggerated for attention,   anyways.   ”   rather like herself really,   though she’s hardly self-aware enough to admit to that,   so the irony is lost on her.   paper aside,   she rests her chin in her hand,   teal gaze studying him with interest.   a slow smile spreads across pink lips,   brightening her features with a teasing amusement.   “   though you know that it’s not just the everyday rustics featured in the papers?   actually,   quite often the upper echelon are reported on to entertain said rustics.   the private details of our lives make for great stories.   ”   that last sentence ends on a BITTER tone,   the words sour in her mouth as she looks away.   her own family had featured quite prominently in recent years,   and now often she alone as the last bellos.

she admires the piece in question from her spot on the bed,   recognizing the sparkling number as one she’d worn to some party or another a while back.   one of MANY such sparkling numbers in her closet.   “   i love it.   ”    she falls backwards,   phone aloft above her as she opens instagram.   “   you have great taste.   ”   given that he was picking clothing from HER closet,   how could he not?   she sighs though,   frowning as she clicks on amara cortas’ profile.   a well known rival of auranos enterprises,   amara seems to simply exist to ruin her life,   whether via social snubs or endeavoring to outshine her fashion.    she can acknowledge that hate scrolling will do nothing but spoil her mood,   but she also can’t seem to help herself.   “   while you’re in there,   pick something out for me that will make amara cry herself to sleep tonight,   will you?   ”
