Person A is trying to study in the library, but can’t keep their eyes from wandering over to the simply gorgeous Person B who is sat, reading a comic book, a few tables over.

Your 20s are suppose to be the best years of your life? Right okay then why have I woken up on someone else’s couch in my clothes from the night before, covered in I don’t even know what, for the third time this week.
Surely at 25 you should know what you’re doing with your life, and don’t spend five out of seven days of the week at random house parties, trying to find some joy in life. But hey, at least I woke up in clothes this time. Everyone I know is married, or having kids or even scarier, a combination of the both. Why can’t adulthood come with an instruction manual, I want a pause button for life.

Is it anxiety, is it depression, or is it a mix of both? Person A doesn’t even know whats wrong anymore, they just know their life seems to be slipping out their grasp. They seek a deeper connection with people but only ever seems to get shallow conversations or one night stands.
They sit alone in the bar once more, staring into their drink. The same thoughts circling their mine; you’ll never achieve your dreams, you’ve wasted your life, will I ever find love?

Sitting in a coffee shop alone, Person A thought they were finally forgetting about Person B the one who got away. But then they hear a laugh, they could recognise that laugh anywhere. Their eyes drift to the counter where Person B is stood with Person C, looking happier than Person A has seen them in months. It kills Person A that they’re no longer the one making Person A smile, filling their heart with love and joy...

A person yearning to be loved, begging their hallucination to bring them someone who loves them. Sitting on the edge of the roof of the apartment building, staring at the moon as they slowly lose their mind. Do they slip off into the night or succumb to their insanity.

Dates, they all begin to blur together after a while. The people are nice enough and sure they make them feel something reminiscent of love, but they aren’t Person B. No one shines brighter in their heart and it’s not fair to day dream of Person B whilst letting these people go down the dead end of their heart. Next time they meet person A has to tell them... to know once and for all know the answer to that question that never seems to leave their mind.

Person A has been in the closet all their life so you can imagine the relief when they finally tell someone, their best friend Person B. They are telling B all their crushes from celebrities to people in they both know, leaving out one vital crush, Person B.
“All this money can't buy me a time machine, no, Can't replace you with a million rings, no, I should've told you what you meant to me, 'Cause now I pay the price”
Person A thought life was perfect, being with Person B was perfect and nothing could ruin that. Ha. Person still blames themselves... They should have never have gone to that bar. They should have gone home when Person B wanted to. Person A should have never begged them to stay for one last drink. If they hadn’t walked down that street, bumped into that man ...If Person A had just a time machine, Person B would still be alive.

Person A watched, heartbroken, as Person B fell for all of Person C’s tricks. Over the coming weeks, every time Person A saw Person B, they were looking more and more weak, fragile. Until one day, Person A immediately confronted Person B as soon as they saw them and asked them to run away with them, before things gets nasty with Person C. But Person B wasn’t planning on C turning up as well...
Eating lunch alone would be fine. Walking the hallways with their head down would be fine. Being picked last for everything would even be fine... if they didn’t come with food being thrown at them at lunch, being pushed against the lockers every time they left class and people whispering lies about you so no one wants to talk to you. This was Person A’s reality, a cruel cycle with no escape, until a new student joins the school. This person is confident, beautiful and bubbly... so why are they sitting on the empty table with Person A at lunch and talking to Person A like aren’t the school punching bag...

It’s 1452, and person A has recently been informed that they are engaged to a fellow royal, in another kingdom. SO what better tie to run away from the castle for some light evening entertainment in the local tavern. So after bidding the king and queen (their parents) goodnight and dressed in their cloak and darkest clothes, they climb out their window using the tree beside their balcony and sneak into the local tavern in which a bard is performing. And to say they were impressed by this bard would be an understatement, they were downright enchanted by them, so much so that they were the last person left in the tavern, fiddling with their engagement ring absentmindedly whilst they watched the beautiful bard. This sparked the bard’s (Person B) attention who smiled at Person A and headed over to them. After a short but utterly captivating conversation with the stranger, Person A felt like they were on cloud nine. But they were shortly pushed off the cloud when they realised what was happening.. no.. no you can’t fall in love with a bard... no no no...you are ENGAGED.
Without a goodbye, Person B watched Person A flee from the tavern, heart deflated, eyes falling to the ground where they spotted a ring. Person B picked up the ring and ran after Person A, following them right up to the castle.. the castle... that was royalty... that is a member of the royal family trying (and failing) to climb up a tree back to their bedroom...

Person A is at a huge party. Everyone is drunk, laughing, and having a good time, but Person A feels detached and alone. All the happy people, mixed with the loud music and alcohol was making them nauseous. They decide to get some fresh air and head to the bedroom balcony, where the loud music is now muffled and rain is falling gently.
Person A closes their eyes and takes a deep breath to calm down, letting the cold raindrops cool their skin. As they open their eyes, they look at the apartment building on the opposite side of the street. A lit up, open window catches their eye, as they look they see there is someone sat in the window, looking back at them.
It feels like a dream, like something out of a book... things like this don’t happen in real life. But all of a sudden Person doesn’t feel alone anymore as they keep their eyes on this beautiful stranger.
“It feels like there’s oceans, Between you and me once again, We hide our emotions, Under the surface and try to pretend, But it feels like there’s oceans, Between you and me”
Something had changed, they both knew it, but the reality was too painful to face. Instead they just ignore the fact that the ocean between is growing bigger and bigger with each passing day.

Who knew their lives would be so different… Who knew that Person B was hiding a painful secret from Person A, their best friend who lives thousands of miles away…

It was about time that Person A quit denying it, drop the act before they waste anymore denying their feelings towards Person B, just to please other people. But life isn’t that easy, but Person B sure as hell makes their life better…

Person A is finally feeling brighter after months of darkness, which unfortunately Person B got caught in… Determined to make it up to them, Person A writes a song for them. But one problem, they aren’t on speaking terms right now… So Person A finds another way of showing them, surprising Person B at an open mic night in a local bar, which Person C just happened to drag Person B along to…
“The new found friends she introduced you to, I don’t wanna know them I just want to be with you”
Person B is offered their dream job, the only problem is that they would have to move to New York, leaving Person A lost, their future now jaded without person B…
A heartbroken Person A to Person B

Person A is in love with Person B, but Person B is in a relationship. This leads to Person A sat alone in a club, practically in tears, watching them dance.
“Do you miss me like I miss you? Fucked around and got attached to you, Friends can break your heart too, and, I’m always tired but never of you“
Person A has painfully realised that losing a close friend can be worse than a breakup. They should have listened to their mother who said to never rely on anyone, as people are generally disappointing… but they thought person B was special, they were inseparable but Person A obviously wasn’t good enough for Person B’s ridiculously high standards and maybe they never even cared about Person A. Because who would hurt their best friend like that…
“I was walking down the street the other day, Tryna distract myself, But then I see your face, Oh wait, that’s someone else”
Person A walks through the street, eyes locked on the ground, as they repeatedly tell themselves, don’t think about Person B, don’t think about Person B, don’t think about Per-… Their thoughts are abruptly interrupted as they bump into someone (person C) , as they look up, they briefly see the face that has been the subject of their thoughts lately… Oh wait what!? it’s not Person B… and they have been staring at this person for an uncomfortably long time…
“So I’ll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep, And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe”
Empty… thats how Person A feels after Person B left. They should have thought better than to think that they’d get a happy ending. All they can hope is that Person B is happy now, even if Person A has to smile through the pain of watching someone else make Person B happy.

No one really prepares you for the moment you see your significant other at the alter. Person A could barely contain themselves, overwhelmed with emotion… happiness, anxiety, excitement. Dedicating yourself to one person for the rest of your life, will it be like a fairytale ending they always dreamed of, is it worth giving up their freedom… is this the right moments to be having these thoughts?-
A voice breaks them out their thoughts,
“Person B? Do you take Person B to be your lawfully wedding husband/wife?”

Hey there!! If it's not too much trouble, could I request a prompt about a retired spy who's really pessimistic and a lone wolf, who is pulled back into employment and sent on a mission with an optimistic, new recruit? I just adore your writing so much!!
Hello! I have just posted this under the title ‘Teaching An Old Dog New Tricks’ thank you for the brilliant request! It was so fun to write, so I hope you enjoy it. ^_^
Person A had sworn to themselves that they would never go back to this... So why exactly are they sat in a meeting about a new mission, opposite the human embodiment of a ray of sunshine (Person B). They knew they worked alone so why, WHY is this young bouncy recruit joining them on this mission?!
“Person A, Person B is the best recruit we’ve had since.... since you joined”
Much to Person A’s distaste and protest, the headquarters insisted that Person B join them on the mission, something about how ‘it’s not safe enough by yourself’. So thats how Person A found themselves in their current position, driving towards the destination whilst Person B talks their ear off, like seriously it feels like they haven’t taken a breath since they got in the car.
Upon arriving, Person B is still seemingly yet to take a breath, and the lone wolf that is Person A has had enough. They shoot Person B a glare which Person B can feel burn into their soul, causing them to shut up immediately, looking like a kicked puppy. Person A looks away straightening their outfit, feeling bad but there is no time to apologise... they have a mission to get on with.
They both head into history museum that is hosting the expensive party that they are gate crashing. Person A gives their fake names, permitting them entry to the exclusive bash. Like always, Person A is stone faced, scanning their eyes around the room, consequently making them seem much more suspicious. Whist Person B has wide excited eyes as they take in the lavish surrounding of their first ever mission, happily eating all the canapés they possibly can.
Person A rolls their eyes and walks away, down an empty corridor without Person B, but little does Person A know, they’ll need Person B much more than they originally thought. Because their lone wolf tactics won’t work this time, which they unfortunately find out when the spine-chilling familiar feeling of a gun, is pressed between their shoulder blades.
