And then I get the most unholy knee pain on the way back up. 

Accommodations are not special, they’re not a leg up, they’re not a benefit. They’re not putting anyone ahead in the race, nor are they taking anything away from others.

They exist to put us on a level playing ground to everyone else, and nothing more.

I get a lot of people telling me how great it is that I’m learning about myself, how proud they are etc. for me recognizing that I’m autistic and trying to help myself. While this is still preferable to the people who just flat out deny it it’s not helpful.

No one in my family has any concept of what I’ve gone through, they’ve never seen me have a meltdown, they just think it’s cool self discovery which is absolutely minimizing the way I’ve struggled my entire life and it’s incredibly invalidating.

All I want is for someone to apologize, to say that I shouldn’t have had to figure this out by myself at all, to say that they’re sorry I did, that the system failed me and they did too. So for all the self/late diagnosed people out there I am sorry, you shouldn’t have had to figure any of this out by yourself, you should’ve been recognized in childhood and had adequate support, no matter how well you masked people should’ve asked more questions.

Because self diagnosis is necessary but it’s also very lonely and heartbreaking to learn that you weren’t broken and you could’ve had help from the beginning if someone had just acknowledged what you were going through.

Autism isn’t my tragedy, not being seen as autistic is. I lost so much of my childhood because no one wanted to spare me a second glance and for all the other autistics out their with similar experiences I’m so sorry, it sucks and it’s okay to grieve what could’ve been.

I am once again asking the autistic community stop punching down on autistic people they’ve been taught to view as “stereotypes.”

I’m talking about nonspeaking autistics.  About autistic people who need full-time support.  About asexual and aromantic autistics.  Autistics who don’t want a lot of friends.  Unemployed autistics.  Autistics who were/are in special ed.  Intellectually disabled autistics.  Autistic adults who live with other family members.  Autistics whose meltdowns aren’t “subtle.”  Autistics who injure themselves.  Multiply disabled autistics.  Autistic shut-ins and agoraphobes.

We are all just as deserving of respect and dignity as former gifted kid autistics who still do everything they can to distance themselves from us even as they preach acceptance.

Step 1: Open Notepad.

What does this do?

This runs a very basic script, and every six seconds, your computer will double-tap the NumLock key (i.e., turn it on, and then off) in a single instant.  This counts as a key-press, occurs with a key that shouldn’t affect most things that you’re doing, occurs with no gap between them even if it could affect things you’re doing, and should prevent this kind of BS from engaging.  As an aside, this will also prevent your computer from automatically locking itself, so take that into account if you need to manually lock your computer when going to lunch or whatever.

My mother who lives in England is currently in Zim. She’s been there for a week. She got Covid earlier this year in England.

COVID is slowly becoming a “third world” disease. While first world countries are hoarding vaccines, having doses for populations many times their size, third world countries can’t get any because pharma companies want to sell to the first world countries first. Even then, first world countries will receive them first. While rich countries recover from COVID, they will forget about the pandemic while many other countries live the absolute worst moment of the pandemic without being able to vaccinate their population.

Watch also when some first world countries finish vaccinating their populations, they will turn to third world countries and “donate” or sell surplus vaccines. People in these countries will go “Oh how sweet! The government is donating vaccines to the poorer countries <3” when it was their hoarding that led to many, many third world citizens dying before they could even get vaccinated in the first place.

This is not a bullshit useless change dot org petition by the way this is an actual thing with legal consequences. If this petition gets to a million signatures, the european commission HAS to examine it.

They need not only a million signatures but to pass thresholds in at least seven member states - which only Belgium has done so so far. Especially if you have Italian, Irish, or Cypriot citizenship, please sign. Sign it in general, but try to circulate if you can to anyone with those nationalities specifically.

If the requirements are met, the European Commission will be forced to examine this and take legal action. Real change is a possibility if enough signatures are collected.

Hello, I'm Madison! I'm a volunteer at God Provides Orphanage and Ministry, an orphanage in Buguri, Uganda run by my close friend @wesonga01! It homes over 50 orphans as well as struggling families.

It's a wonderful place dedicated to really giving each child a sense of hope and stability for their uncertain futures. Yazid's helped deathly ill children afford medicine, takes people in whenever he can, sacrifices so much, and would do ANYTHING for these children.

Right now, we're in a huge emergency. There is absolutely no food left, and the kids are struggling to sleep from hunger. We desperately need any help we can get!!
