I’m so proud of myself. I did SO MUCH to this room. Here is a list:

-removed the wall paper border. (WHY DOES WALL PAPER EXIST!?)

-tried sanding the nasty drips off the walls. Didn’t work

- attempted to scrape the walls after using paint thinner. Also didn’t work.

-resigned myself to mudding and sanding all four walls. Thankfully that worked.

- two coats of paint on each wall, along with touch ups here and there from the painters tape peeling some off :/

- pulled up the carpet and carpet pad.

- hubby removed the tack board while I removed the staples and nails from the floor.

- replaced the gross and old air return vent on the fooor.

- swept, vacuumed and mopped the flooor before allowing our bunny in the room.

- moved my office furniture in.

Things I still need to do:

- touch up the stains on the ceiling from both paint and many years of use.

- sand and stain the entire floor.

- removed and replace a part of the floor that is blackened from water damage.

- sand, fill and paint all of the door casings.

- cut and place window trim

- cut and place floor trim.

Those items I will take on very slowly. Despite the rough shape of the floor from scratches and paint, it’s still ‘presentable’ and people understand this doesn’t happen over night. I’m really proud of myself. I basically built the bedroom and my office. 😊

Almost done! The blue wall and half the closet wall just need a light sanding and a second coat of paint to finish it up. I’ll touch up the ceiling where I got paint and a few dingy spots. But I’m so close to being able to rip up the nasty carpet I can feel it!!!

I’ve been continuing to work on my office. I’ve been working on it since the end of July. Wow. That feels like forever. It’s taking such a long time because I work 50 hours a week and spend 10 additional hours driving to and from work a week. Ugh. I’ve mudded and sanded all of the walls. 3/4 walls have the two coats of paint on them and are done. Once the dark blue paint dries I can go in and patch any remaining air holes or scrapes from the mud and do the last coat. Then the walls that have caused me so much agony will be done! And nice discovery. There is pine hardwood under the gross carpet. So I’ll be ripping that up as well :) I can see the finish line!!!!

Yes it’s a terrible photo but I don’t care. Now that I have a house I can actually buy outdoor decorations. Our area is pretty windy, or I would prop this outside.

I stopped at Menards for some garage opener parts and couldn’t pass this cute sign up. Side note. At some point we need a new front door. Our current one works but it’s beat up and the frame is sloping causing the screen door to have a gap at the bottom haha. Gotta love 100 year old houses.

After a month and a half of moving, renovating and working I haven’t had time to run. And my eating habits went for convenience rather than health. But I’m back!

I think my car is a lemon. I’ve had it since February. Brand new lease. 2019 Mazda 3 sedan. I got it while I was working for Mazda. It’s been nothing but bad juju.

Day two I hit a pothole and pop a tire. I should have bought a new tire and returned it...

At about 5,000 miles I kept getting this error message “Mazda safety systems temporarily disabled, drive safe” meaning everything was disabled. No cruise control, no forward collision, no lane keep. And on a 50 mile one way drive to work it sucked. I’d shut the car off and things would work. Then the same error would come up. I had to get a new sensor.

Then at 6,000 miles I got the same dreaded message again. But with two added bonuses. The first being “Mazda smart cruise is disabled under 20mph” while I was going 35 and not using cruise control. It kept flashing over and over. And then “camera visibility low, drive safely” in broad daylight with no obstructions on my camera. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Minnesota lemon law states that an issue must first be reported within two years of vehicle delivery. Which it has. And have had 4 unsuccessful attempts to repair an issue that effects the value of the vehicle or impacts safety.

So. Idk. I’m at a loss. I hope this issue gets fixed. Or if the sensor keeps going out, that I can file arbitration and get a replacement vehicle for the remainder of my lease. Cause tbh. I’m about to go work at a Ford dealership that is much closer to home versus trekking 100 miles a day into the cities, and I don’t want to drive 45 miles to the nearest Mazda dealership every 1,000 miles.
