My little town is finally coming together. I moved my house up to my cliff side last night and I love my new museum set up! Terraforming is really starting to grow on me too! ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡

Hey Mischa! My partner just got a Switch. It's the first gaming counsel she's owned (I do not play & her parents eschewed violent media), and she's looking forward to future gaming adventures and joining a (queer & female inclusive) gaming community! However, she is intimidated not only by the # of games, but the complexity of the games. She feels like a young kid just starting out. What are some good games for beginners that will prepare her for more complex games like Animal Crossing?

getting into video games for the first time is so exciting! Animal Crossing is a great beginner game imo. you can take it at your own pace and focus on whatever aspect you most enjoy. but I understand being intimidated by everything it has to offer!

I’d definitely recommend GRIS. it’s a shorter indie game that is very beautiful and atmospheric. there is no combat or dying, just exploring and some puzzle solving. it’s incredibly moving and one of my all time favorite games.

two narrative-heavy games I’d also recommend are Night in the Woods and Oxenfree. they’re both a little spooky, and the gameplay is almost entirely story, dialogue, and exploring. perfect for a beginner.

you are both welcome to hang out in my streams and ask more questions about these games! other people hanging in the chat would probably have some good suggestions too. best of luck!!
