To everyone who didn’t get into their dream school:
- your self worth is not attached to this university
- internalise the saying “everything happens for a reason” and allow it to comfort youÂ
- know that your feelings of sadness and/or anger are valid right now, let yourself feel sad. its ok to cry. let it all out of your system.
- know that it’s not ok to wallow in this, you can, and you will rise from these feelings, you wont let them get in the way of achieving your dreams.Â
- this university rejection will not get in the way of achieving your dreams.
- across the board, this year’s application pool was the largest and the most difficult one to segregate through, some universities even had to resort to randomly generating names because they couldn’t pick.

Hi! Just a really quick tip for those who already don’t know about this, but it was really helpful for me when I discovered it a few years back. No need to download any programs :)
FYI. This works on macbooks, but I’m not entirely sure if this feature is the same on windows.
-Open textbook in google chrome
-Highlight text
-Right click > Speech > Start Speaking
Note: Listening to textbooks while reading at the same time supposedly helps with learning :) This isn’t restricted to textbooks though, I sometimes use this with reading revision notes, as well!
-Open in .pdf or .epub format
-Highlight text
-Right click > Add to itunes as spoken track
Note: Might take a while so prepare the audio files if you want to listen to them on the train or something!
CUSTOMISATION
To customise to preferences go:
-System Preferences > Dictation & Speech

5/4/16 - it’s been a month but i’ve only just accepted the fact that it’s autumn ): i don’t have a lot of time to journal these days so i’ve shrunk my weekly log by a ton, but i’m liking the minimalistic approach!!

that’s my work space, you can find: a lot of plants, some hand made boxes, succulent shaped candles, my kindle paperwhite, an ikea alarm clock, winsor & newton watercolors, my moleskine and my pencil case.
that’s what happens when you put your desk next to your library.
