i personally think the reason why so many people struggle to like guren is bc he’s v representative of humanity. of us. how many of us could honestly say we wouldn’t sacrifice everything for our family of choice? what makes guren hard to like is that he forces to confront this “less moral” side of all of us because he does. he sacrifices the world, the entire human race, to get his squad, his family back.

it’s cute when yuu says it for mika bc we’ve seen their characters as children, but we’re first introduced to guren as an adult. he’s 24 in vampire reign, and since that’s how he’s first introduced, he sticks in our heads best at this age. we forget that he was 16 when he lost shinya, sayuri, mito, goshi, and shigure⎯the same age yuu was when he chose mika over the world (kind of. they’re working on a plan, but it’s pretty obvious that if it comes down to it, he absolutely would choose mika over everyone.) but because we’re used to seeing guren as an adult and a high ranking military officer, there’s this expectation that he’s responsible enough to not make that kind of decision.

and yet, we watch him continue to make those decisions to bring back humanity without losing his family, because that’s his modus operandi. at the end of the day, there’s is no one more important to him than his family.

and honestly, how many of us can truly say we wouldn’t have done the same thing in his place?

(i’d also like to point out that i was around 14 when i first found the series and caught up on everything⎯i didn’t like guren v much the first time around and thought he was honestly, quite annoying. at 19, and a whole pandemic later, i think i understand where he’s coming from. he’s quite brilliantly written in that way, the definition of “you’ll understand when you’re older.”)

since it is our favourite little rat's birthday today i thought i would professionally analyse how different parts of the fandom see him. <3

And here a daily remainder that Guren means "Crimson Lotus" in which Lotus flower is a holy one that grow up from muds and dirt and open its petals to the sun and in more explaintion, the Red or Crimson Lotus one is the one lotus which symbolize "Love" and in the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, sits on a Red Lotus flower and holds such a deep and important symbol such as mercy in that religion. Ah no because I need to clear this that, the cover is absolutely beautiful guys.

Who did ever call it ugly or denied that it isn't beautiful? All people in this fandom if not agree with everything but we are all agree with this fact that Yamato sensei's arts are always shining, stanning, beautiful and everything. This is an incredible fact and nobody isn't against it but the things which is bothering some of us is that it's getting seriously annoying and disappointing to have only two characters (Yuu and Mika) on the covers again and again (yes maybe there will be other characters there too but they are so in the background that we can even ignore their existence there lmao) specially for this SQ jump cover we mostly wanted a cover with at least all those important characters other than Yuu and Mika such as Guren, Shikama doji, Krul, Ferid, Mahiru, Asuramaru, Shinoa and her squad somehow (like the art for the ending of ONS anime and how everyone was there) because yes it was ONS 10th anniversary not Mikayuu's 10th anniversary right? Since cover 24 till now we only recieve Mikayuu covers now it is not like we say the covers are ugly or Mikayuu is bad but the case is that it's tiring? No stop saying because Yuu and Mika aee the mains because at least I was and am in other fandoms and reading their mangas too such as Noragami, Black Butler, AOT, VNC and many others too and in non of them it isn't or wasn't like having only 2 characters on the covers again and again. Yes for example previous cover, cover volume 27, MUST be for Yuu and Guren and the others on the background at least but?! Like dude?! So yes THIS is something which is bothering people it DOESN'T mean we HATE something, it DOESN'T mean we aee sending HATE towards Yamato sensei, it DOESN'T mean we are disrespectfuling or shitting on sensei but we are just complaining over something which started getting repeating again and again such thing is BAD when we start to INSULT the artist but as far as I know and see people's comments whethere here or on my Instagram account nobody NEVER dared to do such thing or calling the art and the cover bad or ugly. I don't know about the other places but at least in where I am nobody's like this but people are just complaining that they are TIRED and sorry but we have the rights tbh to be tired because as much as you never can deny that the covers are always beautiful and Yamato sensei is a godess nobody can't also deny that it's getting seriously boring and disappointing at this point now BUT it also DOESN'T mean you shouldn't like or enjoy the cover sure you also have all rights to like and enjoy the cover but please at least do not call people who are tired and are complaining POLITELY as haters or disrespectful people (sure if someone is INSULTING the artist then their story is different) because people are all free to be disappointed too.
