Brimer the Orc & Ciran the Drow

Two traveling friends often wind up at the same rest spot. There they meet a girl, who over time, wishes to have the same adventures they do.

Female Reader x Male Monster x Male Monster

A few years ago you were out getting eggs and bread to take back home, when you happened upon a performance. An orc was playing a lute and singing, and his voice was exceptionally lovely. You stopped in the small crowd to listen, and the orc smiled at you. For a moment you felt the beating of your heart skip, and in that same moment you became aware that someone was uncomfortably close to you. It was a gift you’d developed over the years. You noticed a dark hand near your waist, and you snatched it. The drow behind you looked just as shocked as you were, and the orc’s song halted for a brief moment before he started again at a much more rapid pace.

You came to know the pair as Brimer and Ciran, two friends traveling and using their various talents to make their way in the world. Brimer the orc was a jovial and musically talented fellow, who used his music to distract unsuspecting people. Meanwhile, Ciran the drow would pick pockets. You snatching Ciran’s hand had been a shock to both, and they claimed no one had ever caught Ciran before.

That’s what they told you anyway, after you ran from them. Once they caught up with you, they begged you not to tell. They had been robbed on their way into town and needed some coin in order to get food and shelter for the night. Being the sucker you were, you agreed to let them stay at your family’s inn, but they had to earn their keep for the night. Brimer was charged with performing for the usual patrons, while Ciran did the washing in the kitchen.

40th Anniversary

40 years ago today, the lovely Mrs. Laurie married me, and I’ve been trying to convince her what a mistake she made ever since. But she stuck around and is the kindest, most patient, forgiving, good-humored, angelic, loving human I’ve ever known, and I’m truly blessed to live life with her. .

Rain the Nahual

Just in case ya'll were wondering from the title what a Nahual is, I'll go ahead and tell you. The Nahual is a Mesoamerican shapeshifter, better yet, a human who can shapeshift into their tonal animal. This one is a leopard!

Female Reader x Male Monster

It was early in the morning, but the darkness that seeped from outside felt eerie. The cold rain that pattered on the roof added to that somewhat spooky atmosphere as you turned on the coffee pot.

“Man, this rain is starting to be a bit much,” you grumbled under your breath. You stepped away as the coffee pot started up, making all the dramatic bubbly noises of something twenty years past its prime.

You turned on the lights for your office, stepping barefoot into the workspace to get the computers up and running so they weren’t molasses slow when you had to get to work. You yawned loudly, scratching the back of your neck then looking back towards the calendar on the wall. The dry erase board held a rainbow of colors, each signifying due dates and upcoming events. You then saw a few marks on the board you didn’t recognize and walked up closer to get a good look.

They were doodles of you, looking like some ancient wall art of an angry volcano deity. The only reason you knew it was you was because the hair was green and curly.

“Fucking Rain,” you grumbled under your breath. “I do not look like that.” You smeared away one of the doodles with your thumb then stomped back into the kitchen. “He wants angry I’ll show him fucking angry,” you continued to fumed through clenched teeth.

Coffee would help, coffee would soothe the spite. Mostly anyways.

Jasper the Bugbear

First story of the year and I'm giving ya'll a double decker one to set off the year right! This story feature intrigue, espionaige, fucking over the rich, and a cozy bookstore featuring a very handsome bugbear. Female Main Character: Male Monster (both cis)

The letter arrived first thing in the morning, delivered into my hands by someone who whisked away as quickly as they appeared. I had been hunkered down in this small town waiting on this for a while now.

“Geez,” I mumbled over the letter. “Who did they let write this thing?” I squinted over the paper, trying to decipher some of the illegible handwriting. I scoffed, pulling back and rubbing the bridge of my nose. I’d been restless waiting for this thing to come in. I had been placed here for a while now in an attempt to blend in. I posed myself in town, scouting things out, selling trinkets under the guise of charity. I was growing bored with it, not many of the people I had been charged with finding were the type to just go out into the market.

“Dear Caranina,” the letter started off.

“Not my name,” I grumbled. In a bit of spite, I took my own quill and scraped it out, writing ‘Carina’ over it.

“We know you have been waiting long to wehdhjfjfhshj from us. It has taken us quite a while to jshdjhkfjihf and ahdfhrjhuidhh in order to assure your mission runs smoothly.”

You scoffed under your breath. “Were they writing this letter under siege?”

Jasper the Bugbear: Part Two

Jasper and Cara return! The two have been separated for some time so the tension has built. Your favorite bugbear and spy couple must deal with the space between them, as well as a coven of witches. Read Part One Here! Female Main Character x Male Monster

The reward money sits on the desk, untouched. Ever since it was handed to me by Greta (who hand delivered it from some elder in the Bog of Recoil), I’ve not been very interested in it. Jasper has been sleeping a lot, recuperating from what happened to him in the swamp.

I’ve kept to his side, holding his hand or brushing back the fur from his face. When he does wake up, I tend to his wounds and fix him his meals. I try to give him space, but when he’s asleep I almost want to curl inside him to know he’s alright.

“I just need a day or two of this,” Jasper raspy voice replied. I turned from the stove to see him sitting up in bed, shoulders hunched, fur disheveled.

I looked back at the stove, stirring the stew I’ve got going. “Nonsense, take as long as you need.” I said this with a stern tone. “Your health is important.” I filled a bowl full of the stew and carefully delivered it to his bedside.

Jasper sighed, taking the bowl into his large hand. “The warmth does feel good. Thank you Cara, for taking care of me.”

I nodded, glancing away as he began to eat. “Think nothing of it.” I whisked back to the stove to clean up, unaware his eyes were upon me the whole time. “I still have things to do around the city,” I murmured. “A few last things to clean up from the peacekeepers.”

Jasper was quiet for a moment. “You should be careful. There could still be some traitors hidden amongst the ranks. You shouldn’t go alone.”
