How to get your post shared
Since I’m making some posts now I’d like to make one more! How to get your post shared on this blog.
First off, there’s a few methods that you can use.
- Share a post you made or you saw to me in a Direct Message aka DM aka PM. This method is the most convenient and easiest for me! This is the method I prefer, when possible. I can quickly let you know I got your message and that it’ll be reblogged soon. I’m instantly notified, and I can easily tell that I’ve take care of it when I’m done. I (hope) it’s easy for you - just tap or click the little arrow button and send the post to @shareyourdollar.
- Submit content to @shareyourdollar. This method should only be used when you want/need to submit anonymously or simply do not want to be OP of the post. This is important, so I leave this option open - no questions asked! For some reason, tumblr does not notify me when I get a new submission so it might take a little longer for your post to be shared if you choose to submit it. Also, tumblr is annoying and doesn’t show you the submission guidelines and tags on mobile, so when possible, I suggest creating your submission on desktop or in the browser instead of the app.
Less preferable options but I will still accept - nobody is turned away:
- Tagging or @ ing me on a post. I don’t have a way to let you know I saw it or to indicate to myself that I’ve already queued it, so it’s less preferable but it still works!
- Sending an ask or message without including the post you’d like to be shared. This requires a bit more effort from me, and if I don’t see your message right away, your recent post that you are referring to might not be so recent anymore. When possible, try to include some type of link to the post you’d like reblogged! It really helps make sure I share the post you want shared!
Those should cover the main ways donation posts are sent in. Let me know if you have any questions, of course! And always remember, nobody is turned away, I don’t even read the post beyond skimming to find the payment/donation methods. If you sent something in and it hasn’t been posted or you haven’t heard back in over a week, I might’ve missed it or Tumblr ate it, just send it again! There is never a need to apologize for sending a post in and you don’t need an explanation. Everyone deserves the help, no questions asked.
💚
Sharing this little guide again!
As this blog and community around it grows, there have been more requests for aid sent in, and more notifications. Please refrain from tagging, mentioning, or @ ing this blog whenever possible, and instead tap/click the little paper airplane arrow button to send the post directly as a chat message. With a higher quantity of posts shared here and all the notifications on them, it’s very easy for an @ mention to become buried in the activity and for us to miss it.
Also, a reminder that explanations, evidence or proof, and vivid descriptions or photos (especially of injuries, wounds, or children) are NOT a requirement to be shared on this blog.
Thank you all!! 💚 Especially grateful to those of you who are donating. Funding the people’s requests for aid is the ultimate goal and every donation, large or small, contributes towards that goal!
It's been a while since this has been shared, and we've had lots of new followers since then.
One thing that's come up a bit, is how quickly to expect a response? We aren't available at all hours every day, as we have other responsibilities, like family and work, that take our time. While we try to check in on the messages every day or two, it can sometimes be a few days or even a week until we can get to your messages, submissions, and tags/mentions. And from there, all posts are queued so that they are evenly spaced out in time and not all shared in little bursts when we check tumblr. Please be patient with us, it could take some time before we see your post, and then more time while it is in the queue before it is reblogged.
We understand that often, your financial need is urgent, so we try to respond quickly, and let you know once your post is in the queue, if you have DMd us. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
