Something about Theo being in a vulnerable position, acutely aware of his lack of security and safety, reminded every day when he’s stripped of even the basic right to sleep… Something about Theo seeing another loathsome creature, having it at his mercy and choosing to give it the kindness and curiosity he has not received himself… Something about that little smile, when he feels a moment of connection with another living thing, perhaps confirming to himself that, despite everything, he is actually capable of being good and doing good things, even if it’s just something small like this… Something about him being betrayed during that moment of gentleness, punished for even the smallest moment of security he could’ve felt…

It’s been a while since I worked on any bookbinding (end of semester is literal hell) but I had enough motivation today to finally finish binding Honeymoon Wars by @theoceanismyinkwell! My phone camera doesn’t pick it up, but trust me, the lettering is glittery lol.
