basically i think jotaro is trans but super stealth about it. trans but if you find out about it he kills you. he never told anyone in his family explicitly about being trans they just had to figure it out themselves. holly and joseph are horribly overbearingly excruciatingly supportive of him but jotaros been keeping them silent under threat of death / him never speaking to them ever again if they breathe a single word about it. one time joseph tried to give him a brochure about getting top surgery and jotaro punched him in the stomach like he did against set and then he left.

anyways that’s all to say jotaro goes to morioh and meets josuke who is also trans but comfortable and open about it and josuke doesn’t know that jotaro is trans so he takes it upon himself to be a good uncle and lecture his 28-year-old nephew about the Fine Nuances of Being Trans. Do you know what being trans means Jotaro? and jotaro is just sitting there completely dead inside while josuke gives him the very basic Introduction to LGBT Community speech because jotaro does know but he has successfully transitioned without coming out to anyone as trans and he’s not about to break that record now. he’s stuck. he’s in a trap of his own making. and josuke is so, so, so, so proud of his middle aged cis nephew for successfully overcoming societally ingrained transphobia and homophobia because he loves and wants to support his family. love truly wins.

PAUSE & EFFECT demo is out!

“In an irregular world where the dead rarely stay dead,  ghosts and other such spirits are a regular sight. The protagonist, a decently experienced exorcist, knows this. And she knows what her job demands of her to do whenever she encounters one of the dead.

What she doesn’t know is how she should respond when she encounters one of the dying. Especially when said encounter takes place on a sunny, ordinary morning in the suburban town she lives in, a place where she least expected to witness both a death and a fervent refusal of it.

… If only she’d known what this would get her into…  “

The demo of RPG VX Ace game, PAUSE & EFFECT, has been released! It features around 10 minutes worth of gameplay and acts as an introduction to the world of the game, a place full of spirits, exorcists, and tasty bread.

DOWNLOAD IT HERE:

(PAUSE & EFFECT requires the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP to run.)

This demo was made for My First Game Jam (Winter 2020), hence why it’s a bit short right now. In the future, an updated demo will be released including more battles, story, and at least an additional area or two.

[DEMO] For the Soul

Above the land of the living lies the afterlife’s foundation, Heaven. Here resides two kinds of spirits: angels, who work to atone for their sins; and spirits, who refuse to pass on due to their own regrets.
In a pursuit for reincarnation, angels perform varying tasks to ensure Heaven’s functionality. Among them are reapers, who cruelly cull stubborn ghosts to further their own chances at crossing to the other side.
Lucifer, tired of the way Heaven handles things, decides there’s a better way to go about reaping.

In its current form, the game functions similarly to interactive fiction as it mostly consists of dialogue and cut scenes, but it’s planned to be developed into a more full-fledged RPG. For now, please enjoy this small introduction to an afterlife that we have much to expand on!

Please check out our GAMES page for the download link for FtS. While you’re there, check out PAUSE & EFFECT as well, developed by Vertlinde Manor, a sub-branch of our team!

Made with RPG Maker 2003.
