Of course that was how she had found him. Somewhat had ratted him out. What could he have expected? He had thought that the motel would be a good enough place to hide for the time being… But she had found him anyway.
… There was another few seconds of hesitation as Gladion contemplated whether or not to actually comply with her. The instance was rather brief, however, as he did realize that there was no way she had traveled here alone. Of course she would have Aether employees with her, and there was little to no chance of him managing to slip away from them the way he had two years ago. The younger blonde visibly winced at this realization, as there was nothing he could do except to do as his mother told him.
His hands had started shaking slightly, and he had to cling to his wrist in order to calm it as he slowly stepped forward.
– “… If it’s Null you’re after, I’m not going to hand them over to you so easily.”
“oh dear, is your hand still bothering you? Tsk tsk, if you come back we can have the scientists look into that. There must be something amiss with your nerves.” Even if he had left the Foundation and stole from her she still showed some concern for her son, “I know that. I want you to return to the Foundation-- to me. If you come with me now, your punishment won’t be too severe.”
she reached for Gladion, one hand still behind her back holding Bewears pokeball, “Hasn’t Mother always known what’s been best for you? Look at how you are living right now! In these filthy, third rate motels! You could be at home having a nice meal with Lillie and I... like before you chose to abandon me.”
