Nesta isn’t a symbol of feminism just because she didn’t let Cassian help her. Nesta isn’t a symbol of strong woman just because she treated everyone around her like crap and refuse to live in society. Nesta being sad is not a reason to forget the character issues she has.

Stop trying to make Nesta be “not like the other girls”.

Nesta is a terrible and abusive sibling. Nesta doesn’t know how to live in society and talk to people. Nesta is a pride brat who is rude to everybody, and this shouldn’t be considerate as “cool”. 

Your issues are not reason to treat people around you like shit, especially your family or people who truly wants to help you.

(By the way, Nesta was always rude and abusive to Feyre, not only when she was sad.) 

(If Feyre “let her alone with her issues”, i bet you guys would say Feyre just care about “her perfect life” and “her perfect husband”, even when  Feyre was a fucking victim the entire story.)

Sometimes I think I can try to like Nesta as a character but then I remember shit like this.

This coming from a grown ass woman who has never worked a day in her life, turns down job offers and doesn’t bother looking for one, content to let her sister STILL provide for her without showing any gratitude.

Character A tilting Character B’s chin up to get a better look at their face and the evidence of the fight. A delicately thumbs away the streak of blood by B’s mouth, saying nothing as they examine it. After a brief pause, B’s heart skips a nervous beat as A looks them dead in the eyes. the end of clockwork prince is honestly so chaotic. like first jem and tessa announce their engagement, then charlotte announces she's pregnant and henry's talking about how he wants to name the boy buford, and if that's not enough, cecily comes to the institute saying she wants to become a shadowhunter. and the WHOLE time gideon is just completely embarrassed because it's his first night there and he's like "what the fuck is happening??"

I’m a trans man and I got to see the change in people being like ‘Oh you poor thing I hope you’re coping ok’ to ‘Just get over it, man up’ which has literally been said to me. Men, you’re allowed to suffer. You’re allowed to seek help to heal. Let yourself have these emotions you’re feeling, they’re as natural as anything else.

This is a really good addition. Men, I love you. You’re gonna be okay and you are allowed to cry, be angry, smile, love. You are allowed to feel, you are allowed to struggle, you are allowed to get help.

I was rereading son of Neptune and it occurred to me than it would have been really interesting if Percy had actually gone by Perseus until he received his memories back because it wasn’t uncommon in pjo that when gods or monsters first encountered Percy, they would often use his whole name Perseus Jackson.

But in SON, the sisters of Medusa immediately call him “Percy” and maybe you could even assume from the text that Lupa did as well considering this is what Percy refers to himself as, despite having no memory.

And I think it would have been more impactful if Percy had woken, no memory, and Lupa called him Perseus Jackson, and from there on out thats how he referred to himself. In a literary sense, it would have created a distinction between our Percy Jackson, the boy we know from the original series, who hated his full name and went by his nickname, and Perseus, the boy with no memory, and doesn’t know to correct anyone because he doesn’t remember. 

By simply changing something so basic and yet so fundamental to him, it could have established a greater sense of uncertainty for the readers on if he was really going to get his memory back. It also would’ve been cool to see characters like Hazel, Frank, and Reyna call him Perseus and, after he got his memory back, whether or not he would correct them, and if they would accidentally still call him that if he did.

not to pat myself on the back or anything but like, can you imagine reading the Son of Neptune for the first time, desperately wanting to know whats happened to Percy, and the character narration name of the chapter is Perseus?

And when he gets his memory back, we flip the page to the next chapter, and the name is now, once more, Percy? I would have rioted.

The romans distrusting the son of Neptune with the name of a greek hero… distrusting the boy with name that means to destroy.

Or imagine, when Percy talks with Nico, and Nico slips and says “Percy………us” and it feels like a jolt in Percy’s spine.  

Perseus is a raw as hell name and it really could have been utilized here.

I was corrected on Twitter by someone from the community --- they’re actually Old Order Mennonites! Although they follow that ‘plain living’ doctrine that the Amish do, they also carefully allow technology into their communities. Televisions are one of the few pieces of modern tech that’s allowed in certain Mennonite sects. The Mennonites and Quakers are no nonsense when it comes to oppression of any kind. Google more about them and you’ll quickly find out that it’s no surprise they showed up. They always show up.

There were some of them out in Des Moines protesting too from what I heard! They’re good people.
