Uncharted the Last Legacy: finally a proper kick-ass girl game

I just played through Uncharted the Last Legacy and it has been BY FAR the best game I have played in a long while.

The reasons are many but here are the highlights:

- the main characters are an Indian Woman and a Black Woman

- they both kick an amazing amount of ass and have whole storylines that have NOTHING to do with male characters

- the main storyline is amazing and deals with issues like cultural heritage, personal feelings on ones culture when you have grown up somewhere else, and cultural appropriation

- All without being preachy

- the characterisations are true to a developing female friendship

- the player is put into situations where you are forced to deal with situations from a female perspective (ex. One character is cornered and “patted down” i.e gropped by a soldier in an active hostile zone and you are forced to see how badly she wants to fight back vs. The real fear of harm. Which is a feeling most women are familiar with)

Just overall. Please play this game, and come scream at/with me about how we need at least 5 more of these games

I had every intention of keeping this as a sketch…guess not. I made a sort one-shot fan fic piece for the artwork which I’m not entirely happy with and I’m not comfortable rushing through just to get it out. Small disclaimer: the one-shot fic has some nsfw content, so you have been warned.

This piece was very stressful, I actually wanted to stop altogether and just not continue but I told myself to use it as a study instead of a masterpiece, hope i worked out. So Chloe’s outfit is a skin on the Uncharted multiplayer called Catastrophe.

So…. Naughty Dog just posted this picture on their Facebook page. And I… just can’t. Nadine and Chloe are cannon, guys. It’s so cheesy, but loving video games for well over 30 years, this is so touching to see a company celebrate representation of, not only two women (POC, too!) as the main characters, but aknowledging that they totally dig on each other? Well done, Naughty Dog!!

The bird that’s sitting on top of Nadine’s head is a Crimson Backed Sunbird found in the Western Ghasts of India, it measures a length of - wait wait, this is Nadine’s department but she’s napping at the moment so I’ll send you a Wikipedia link on her behalf (like a normal person) –> Crimson Backed Sunbird 

The programs messed with me and I ended up with a terrible resolution, my apologies. If you are unable to read the text correctly or see the image, please let me know and I’ll try and work some magic on it ;)

[ChloDine] I’ve Got You

So there 3 lovely people that I owe this drabble to are: @csquirrel27 @ bri-notthecheese    @pfeiffersvu 

You have my gratitude for encouraging me and it was enough to get to me edit out this drabble and post it. The characters are OOC (out of character) as usual, however do enjoy :) Please excuse all spelling and grammar errors except for the tsotsitaal and Afrikaans.

P.S: There’s a clue to future ChloDine artwork I’d like to do in the piece below ;) Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to make it happen :3

I’ve Got You

It was harder to get back to Nadine than Chloe originally thought. The underground fort was mostly dark and the passages kept leading back to the exact same door she had locked picked earlier.  A maze built to confuse and trap any perpetrators who entered. Sam said he had a bad feeling about it and Nadine felt that there too many risks involved but Chloe felt it was the only option they had in order to get closer to the treasure they were after. Nadine followed regardless, in case Chloe ended up kicking the hornets’ nest like she usually did and of course she wouldn’t let the love of her life go into the unknown alone.
