as roxanne sat at the microphone, her palm resting on the top of it as her eyes fluttered shut. softly singing into the microphone, her soft voice created hums throughout the room. she had been asked by her boyfriends family to sing at an event, there she saw his phone rise in front of her to slyly record her. taking it from him she flipped her her hair over playfully handing the glass item back to him. once the guitar stopped, she bowed her head and stood up, ‘ i have like ten minutes before they throw another song at me. is there anyway we can sneak out of here? i think hocus pocus is playing on tv and i redecorated the house with halloween stuff. oops, i didn’t tell you that? ‘ her freshly dyed roots were being fiddled with between her digits as she awaited his response. ‘ i just want to lay around, please? plus, you have to study. ‘
Really, Gage hated attending events - and the biggest reason he did was simply because he knew that as his parents golden child, his presence was appreciated. Encouraged. And getting her to come was his parents’ way of making sure he showed up - but if she wanted to leave, there was nothing stopping him from sneaking out with her. Thankfully, being the favorite meant that they wouldn’t get too angry with him. One of his eyebrows lifted at her mention of Halloween decorations, but it was almost completely forgotten at her mention of studying, his nose scrunching up just a touch in distaste. “Don’t remind me,” he hummed teasingly, leaning down to press a quick kiss to her cheek as he slid his hand into hers. “C’mon - I know a way out of here through the back. We can slip out and no one will be any the wiser until they notice we’re not here.”

And there are a lot of things in my private life that I don’t want people to know about.” Casual sex and an utter disregard for ‘conventional family values’ wouldn’t really go over very well with the heavily Christian overtones that a lot of the major team owners in the league had, so he had to find a way to cover that part of his life up. Which is where she came in. “It kind of turns into a headache when you have to look over your shoulder whenever you go out in public, to make sure no one’s paying too close attention, you know?”
