I understand the fandom has tarnished Jake at times, but this is truly one of the most underrated scenes in all of ES. I really hope we get to hear more about Jake’s relationship with Rebecca (especially in Most Wanted 2, whenever that comes out).

It was just about 3 am when Sam had woke up to a certain someone’s crying, it was one of those moments she realized even more that their lives have become different.., it had been in each way related to their baby..

stepping into the floor she heard her baby girl going silent, perhaps even back to sleep.., she looked aside to where her husband sleeps, but he wasn’t there.., and that was enough to know Dave was already there.

Crossing the hallway to where their girl’s room is.., she peeked inside.. only to let her eyes fall on the rocking chair lied in the corner, and there was none on it than her husband with the baby snuggled into his chest,

She approaches and states, “gave her milk and changed her clothes all at once?!, aren’t you such a good daddy…” she let an appreciative look turn on her face while she tilted her head slightly.

“Shh!, don’t wake her” he voiced in the best hushed but hearable sound he could muster.

He watched her wearing the as she approached even more tiptoeing and sitting on the chair’s arm she whispered.. “okey.. okey!”

“I also did all this without a pacifier..” he raised an eyebrow with a smirk, “think you could do better?!”

“What eps..” the marshal blew a lack of hair out of her face, reaching her hand and stroking her daughter’s baby hairs gently, admiring the tiny features, she rested her head on her husband’s, “how could anyone possibly be so cute..?!” She wondered at the little one enjoyably.

Dave laughed slightly and gazed at the baby, ”I honestly don’t know..”

Sam watched as the dad held their baby daughter closer to his face and inhaled her scent almost desirably, ..he held her such in a perfect way, was always so gentle, and confident that he had the hang of this.., whenever she panicked at her crying he’d say.. “if she didn’t cry.., how else would we know She needs something?” She smiles at the thoughts running on her head as she watches them both in satisfaction.

“Dave.., careful or you might actually eat her.” She warned jokingly.

She made him giggle as soon as she finished the sentence.., “stop shaking or she’ll wake up!” Sam insisted as she placed a gentle kiss on the girl’s head and another on her husband’s cheek,

Grinning widely, the dad stood up and put their small burrito-wrapped kid in her crib and adjusted where she slept so it would be cozy enough but nothing would fall on her face while asleep in the same time.

Standing back, he took one more look at the little miracle before Sam slipped in his arms, “my girls..” the detective said and kissed his wife’s forehead lovingly.

“I’d make a witty comment but i’m too sleepy for it” she admitted with a grin, “don’t wake up until morning please” she turned her head to the daughter and pleaded.

Dave stared at his spouse with a frown looking at her tired state, he took her face in his hands, “let’s go get some rest” he mumbled.

She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him close to her so they’d become attached in a warm embrace.

“Let’s go to bed cufflinks..” she kisses his neck, then walks with him hand in hand to their bedroom, having fulfilled another put-to-sleep mission successfully.

Why do I hurt myself like this?

Anyway, keep replaying… over and over… 848392 times… That’s all we have…

I’ve done this before I think, if not more then time I should have, we have an amazing writer here, @deztinywarriors who has done an INCREDIBLE amount of writing on an Original Work based on Endless Summer and with all our favorite characters from the main cast.
