I just realized how "actually scary" sounds weirdly combative, but what I meant was that it's "surprisingly scary" given that when we just had other people listen to it believing it wasn't scary at all, a bunch of people were like "why didn't you tell me it was scary 😭" and that surprised us

I don't know if this has any impact on Hi Nay as a whole but I must let it be known that if you want to make any sort of non canon ship content of Hi Nay I 100% support it

(even if by virtue of it being fanon I have no say in that anyway)

I'm just saying this because of the fun discussions people are having in the discord, in part related to ships and non canon things, and I don't want anyone to think I'd judge a ship just because it may or may not be canon

I probably just won't share non canon ship content to avoid confusion but I'd be grateful for such a show of appreciation regardless

(And as many of the current listeners know, you'd be surprised what's Canon in Hi Nay)

(but if you're afraid of being perceived because I am terminally online and aware of nearly every mention of Hi Nay at this time.... You're valid and sorry for party rocking)

Do you think tumblr will ever learn the difference between “I’m defending this person because I agree with them wholeheartedly and I am also like this person” and “I’m defending this person because your behavior is dangerous and you need to stop”

IMO, blurring the lines between “I’m defending them because they’re right” and “I’m defending them because you’re taking this too far” is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracy–even in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic. 

Mob mentality is extremely strong in humans and it’s also extremely dangerous. Mobs don’t think things through. Mobs kill and they destroy and they can’t be reasoned with. Someone trying to calm a mob down isn’t someone defending the ~problematic party~ It’s time we re-learn that.

“even IF the guy did whatever you’re accusing them of, mob violence isn’t a fair or proportionate response, and you guys need to go home and mind your own fucking business” is a thing absolutely no one likes to hear but frequently needs to be said regardless

Me: I shouldn't disturb Neil Gaiman. I shouldn't send an ask unless I really have no way of getting the information otherwise. I'll check old interviews and all the articles that vaguely mention the subject. Of course it goes without saying that I'll read though the FAQ in its entirety. Only then, will I send an ask. However, I'd be very polite and praise his work, as anyone would. I'd also keep it short, because I don't want to waste his time. But I'd keep it very very respectful. I'd be sending a message to a very talented, amazing author that deals with god knows how many like me. Or I'd just stay in the dark and not send him an ask. Yeah, I'll do that.
