Crowley, who thinks this whole magic business is a bit of a joke, saw Aziraphale not believing in himself and went nahhh we are not having this, and proceeded to take Aziraphale’s self confidence right to the top.

And we see how Aziraphale eats it up, how much he needed it, how hungry for the praise he was. How much Aziraphale trusts Crowley.

Crowley gave him exactly what Aziraphale needed so much.

And we don’t only see it in this pure happiness and appreciation on Aziraphale’s face right after he says it.

We also see it later when the shop owner tries to ridicule him and Aziraphale looks at Crowley and then back at the owner and repeats Crowley’s words to him. This is how much it meant to him what Crowley said to him. And he believed it. And oh he is so sweet with how nervous he is, trying to impress Crowley and everything falling apart in his hands. But again - Crowley doesn’t ridicule him.

This is yet another instance of Aziraphale looking up to Crowley for help, for reassurance, or to help him improve his self confidence. When he calls him to report his good deeds to him, when he calls him to ask for help with Gabriel, when he looks at him ashamed when Nina talks about the naked man. What Crowley thinks is important to him and he looks up to him - and Crowley proved over and over again that he can always count on him when Aziraphale needs him.

aziraphale's dream

--------------------------------------- Aziraphale got a Kindle and began reading weird Amazon epub erotica, then started having kinky dreams about Crowley as a naga. HERE I GO PAINTING SNAKE SHIT AGAIN. Painted for the fabulous legal_chipmunk_2095 as part of the GOAD Secret Santa exchange. Chipmunk wanted snakey Crowley and monsterfucking, so I obliged.

The desperate ‘no’ he mouths when Crowley leaves

The tears in his eyes threatening to escape

The way his body shakes

The uneven breathing, taking in deep breaths trying to not panic, not burst out crying

He’s devastated when he realises he lost Crowley

He just lost the love of his life
