evermore is such an insane album when you really think about it. like. love isn't forever. friendship isn't forever. trust isn't forever. family isn't forever. even a marriage isn't forever. but then she ends on evermore (song) and it's like: you know what else isn't forever? pain. suffering. heartache. she just flips the script of the entire album on the LAST SONG and cements the complexity of its core message in 5 minutes. and i'm supposed to be normal about that

also (since i'm seeing a lot of people say they didn't fully get that this was evermore's core message until now) this is what "forever is the sweetest con" means

Why doesn't anyone bitch about Batman the way they are bitching about Sam? I don't care that it's a different universe - no one bats an eye at him not having powers or any kind of super strength. It's totally fine that he throws himself off of buildings and bounces off of buses without any broken bones, right?

So what makes Sam different? He's got the gadgets, he's got the wings, he's got the suit. Why is this man being Captain America out of the realm of possibility?

Explain it to me like I'm five.
