Scrapbooks of William Bowie (1872-1940), American geodetic engineer, are processed and available for research. He earned his MS in civil engineering in 1895 and the ScD in 1922. After graduating from Lehigh, he entered the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey eventually became its chief. His contributions to coastal and geodetic surveys, gave him reputation in the scientific circles around the world. The scrapbooks contain his correspondences with scholars, societies and dignitaries, like Alexander Graham Bell, Franklin Institute, Mansfield Merriman, President Franklin D.
